  1. Can you identify the middle album that NFL halfback Gale Sayers is listening to? It appears to be on Verve, based on the label on the turntable and what appears to be the Verve logo in the bottom right of the album cover. Just curious. Thanks in advance.
  2. My older brother, who is a soul music fanatic, has bought reissues from this label, and says they are excellent.
  3. Ditto! I have that Rhino anthology also, and a number of the original LPs in varying states of condition. It's hard to imagine this not being legit, given the inclusion of so many rare tracks. They must have gotten those from someplace.
  4. My initial thought was that the Chico O'Farrill 6/8 was accidentally listed as the additional track.
  5. Rufus Harley - A Tribute to Courage (Atlantic, CSG stereo)
  6. This sounds like a whacked out library track!
  7. The Carpenters - Ticket to Ride (A&M) I reissue of their hard-to-find debut album, Offering.
  8. Artie Butler - The Harrad Experiment OST (Capitol)
  9. "When They Don't Sleep" would be a great title for a 1970s made-for-TV thriller. Cue up Burt Bacharach's "Nikki."
  10. Thank you both! 👍
  11. Thanks for this! I know Harriott only through his Indo-Jazz albums (which I LOVE, incidentally). What other albums do you recommend by him?
  12. Rosemary sounds out of her element to my ears, but Keely's delivery does not strike me as being appreciably different from Marilyn's. Marilyn McCoo often sounded to my ears like she was from the same era as Keely, Rosemary, et. al.
  13. That is odd. I wonder if Bacharach produced the A-side, if that was the first release of the tune? I also wonder if the Fifth Dimension heard this version, given the respective vocal deliveries.
  14. Then check out Leonhardt, as I mentioned previously.
  15. Check out a young John Williams playing harpsichord on this Mancini track! And this fantastic track from The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., composed by Dave Grusin, arranged by Teddy Randazzo! But if you're looking for baroque music, check out Gustav Leonhardt.
  16. Phil and I had a very nice discussion about 70s library music that he played on or arranged. RIP.
  17. Ella & Louis - Verve (iMONO!)
