  1. Why would it never happen? Would Mosaic think that this material had already been offered too many times in too many formats for anyone to care? I would think that interest in this material would remain relatively high by jazz audience standards.
  2. That was the first place where I encountered this material.
  3. Interesting. You are much more plugged in than I. I don't have kids, and I'm sure that I've ever heard a Taylor Swift song. Maybe at the gym.
  4. Popular culture is much more fragmented now, and not knowing a famous artist is no longer a function of just age.
  5. There was talk about this, though not all in this thread. All Sun Ra releases that Irwin Chusid is involved in are worth getting.
  6. Do you mean the Deep Dark Heavy album?
  7. My copy arrived yesterday. Great to hear this music from the master tapes!
  8. Well, if he's driving, I don't want to encourage bad behavior with weed. If we take Lyft or Uber, that's a different story.
  9. That depends on your expectations for a complete evening. With that title, I would expect Joe to pick me up and pay for dinner.
  10. Gene Page - BLACULA! Did your copy come with a thermos? 😹
  11. This is a fantastic album, and I spin it at least once every Halloween season!
  12. Hermann Scherchen & the Vienna State Opera Orchestra - The Devil in Hi-Fi (Westminster, stereo)
  13. Great! If you can find a clean copy for cheap, I'll trade it for something that's harder to find in the UK!
  14. I dreamed I was a in a room full of friends, some of whom I knew in the real world, some of whom where exclusively dream world people. Someone mentioned the 1970s Time-Life Swing Era series, and I remarked that Billy May was one of the artists behind this series. Then, someone was getting ready to put The African Beat by Art Blakey on the turntable, and he asked me what I thought of it. I replied, "I really don't like the Art Blakey percussion albums that much, and I'll tell you why." At that point, everyone started talking about different topics, and I never got to explain why I didn't like it.
