  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/Eric-Dolphy-At-The-Fiv...1QQcmdZViewItem ! Not even Deep Groove !!! crazy !!
  2. Don't know that one - must be early (i.e., pre-Joachim) ? Yes i think it is from 1961-1962 era. Its a sort of concept album, based on songs matching places of the world (for example : Egypt is illustrated by "Caravan") You can also consider that it is a jazz album, period. Three groups : Sextet with Jack Sheldon, Chuck Wayne, John Bunch, Henry Grimes, Ray Mosca + Rolf Quintet Jim Hall .......................................................................... Quartet ................................................................. If i 've understood the Leonard Feather's notes. Its fine, and in the "Streamline" vein, but inferior (Strealine is a killer) recorded at "Olmsted Sound New York", Panorama was a little NY based label Very very hard to find, but of no value, because our friend japanese have little or no interest for this music. Paid my NM copy 13 $. Reissued by VSOP or Fresh Sound
  3. I would place the record on a 100 % cotton tissue ( if you understand what i mean sorry for the bad english) in a place where there is fresh air + shadow + very dry, and let them dry. I don't think they will get moldy if they dry soon. After that, vacuum cleaning for all.
  4. Think I got $1500 for my original to finance (in part) the Art Ensemble box. Those stupid fetichist collectors ! Anyway, "when talking about money, everyone has the same religion", Voltaire said.
  5. Now it sells for 77 ++ $ @ Amazon ! and 67 € at Amazon.fr
  6. My CD reissue from Dusty Grove is apparently lost in the mail Now playing : Rolf Kuhn "Be my Guest" on Panorama PLP 2008 DG (another hidden treasure from Rolf Kuhn) before that : Cannonball Adderley "Sophisticated Swing" on Emarcy 36110 DG Drummer Label
  7. A record with various delights; e.g. some of the best Roy Eldridge I've heard. ooooooooooh yes !!!! this one is
  8. The cover is a recycling of the "Steve Kuhn Trio" on Contact ! steve kuhn trio
  9. Definitely ! I have the same story to tell ! Moreover, i'd say that, playing an original on Blue Note or Prestige, Riverside, or whatever label or artist , means luxury, ceremonial, special listening experience, and i like it !! I have tons of CD's anyway.
  10. Booker Ervin "The In Between" Blue Note 84283 liberty. I suppose all of you know this record. What an incredible session ! What an extraordinary tenorman was Booker...
  11. Terje Rypdal "Odyssey" double ECM 1067/1068 Terje Rypdal "Waves" ECM 1110
  12. Too bad the Terje Rypdal titiles are so few... "After the Rain" and "Odyssey" are classics IMO. They are worth a vinyl reissue. Conference of the Birds, too. The Mal Waldron (ECM 1001 !) should be reissued too.... And Leo Smith's "Divine Love" !! And "Circle" And... and... Obviously, each of us will complain that something is missing. This list make me feel like giving a spin to some ECMs. Maybe tomorrow.
  13. Blue Mitchell "Bring It Home To Me" Blue Note NY BLP 4228 RVG Mono. Nothing fantastic, just another fine funky session, except Blue himself, one of the greatest ever.
  14. The problem with Riversides is that even original are often bad sounding. I sold my original stereo pressing during my "only mono nervous breakdown". My psy told me i should now look for a mono DG.
  15. Kenny Clarke "Klook's clique" Savoy Red DG Original 12065 Roland Alexander "Pleasure Bent" New Jazz 8267 purple Lucky Thompson featuring Oscar Pettiford, Vol 1 Dg original ABC 111
  16. I like all these old labels and their "superlaphonic" "full radial", "spectrasonic" "full dimensional" "vivid" "rim drive" hifi sound
  17. Will Davis Trio "Have Mood, Will Call" on Sue LP1011, original DG (eventually found this one after many years) Kenny Dorham septet, "Blue Spring" RLP 12-297 DG small label. Good session, nothing unforgettable.
  18. thank you to everyone !!
  19. I've never seen an original copy of this one. It is listed in every disco (various on internet and bruyninckx book) as the second Wayne Shorter session as a leader, after "introducing" and before "Wayning Moments" both on VeeJay. But you never see it for sale on Ebay. Never on popsike. Never seen a copy on a record shop. Was this record really issued in 1961 ? Or was it recorded and and issued years after, even with an original catalog number ?
  20. Charlie Rouse "Yeah ! " Epic 16012 DG Yellow radial label
  21. Thelonious Monk "Brilliant Corners" RLP 12-226 DG blue label 2nd press.
  22. Nice one! I've got a later dutch pressing, with round cover obviously! But the rarest edition is the one with squared disc (in the round cover) -_-
  23. Led Zeppelin. "Rain Song" on "The Song Remain The Same", Swan Song. My old high school days scratchy copy. Reminds me my ex girl friend Sido. A wild and dark beauty... Page and Plant at the same time
  24. Sincere condolences to you and family.
  25. Red Garland Trio : Groovy, Prestige 7111, DG Yellow 447 w label. My favourite Red Garland ! Fortunately, the pop is on the long (and quite boring) "Willow Weep for Me"...
