Same here. But I also haven't encountered many versions that didn't feature Wayne. Guy

Good to hear about Anthony's long suspension -- hopefully the Warriors will be able to take advantage. (Unlikely.) 60 from Gilbert? Very impressive, though it's telling that Washington is only a middle-of-the-pack team. Guy

Sorry dude, I disagree. I guess I can understand their annoyance, but it's not a legit gripe. Guy

YOU! Time Magazine's Person of the Year

How stupid. Guy -
I sort of feel the same -- it would be a lot of fun if they cut loose a little more. As it is, the best parts of the album are when they get into those vamps and jam on top of them. I picked up this album when I was starting to explore jazz back in college. I had discovered Shakti and was looking for similar music. I'm not familiar with any of Oregon's other music. Guy
-
Then I think you might like them. At one time, they had a keyboardist named "Seaweed". Guy

I'm very pleased with the outcome of this fight. The multigame suspensions will harm the Nuggets and improve the Warriors' playoff chances. Guy

I just got through listening to Erpland for the first time in a long time. Fantastic album! Highly recommended to anyone who is interested in fusiony, ethnic-influenced space rock. "Eternal Wheel" baby! Guy

I was somewhat disappointed with 5 in comparison to 3 and 4 which is probably why I've avoided 6. But perhaps it's time for me to re-evaluate 5. Guy

Personnel: Ralph Towner, Glen Moore, Colin Walcott, Paul McCandless

Apparently Sony/BMG is releasing remasters of Third, Fourth, Fifth, Six and Seven. Third will have a bonus live disc. I'm guessing that these are UK or Europe-only, but perhaps I am wrong. link I will have to check out 6 & 7 one of these days.

It's a shame he didn't use his considerable charisma, resources and people skills to promote a more open, less politicized vision of jazz. Aside from that, I don't really care about him either way. Guy

One more win and the Suns tie their franchise record for longest winning streak. It's really a shame that Amare won't ever be as good as he was before the knee injury. (I've said that about five times in this thread.) Guy

Baron takes about 8 shots a game less than AI, but I think he takes his share of ill-advised shots. He shoots way too many 3s. Guy

I can't believe I didn't mention Oldfield's Tubular Bells. This album's supposed charm completely eludes me. It just sucks. Guy

Nobody has been calling Chris Bosh or Allen Iverson a terrible player. Of course, Bosh is much more valuable because he's a big man. LeBron, Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant could probably turn Philly into a playoff team, at least in the east. FWIW, it's not just that Philly isn't a playoff team -- it's that they flat out suck. To go back to shooting percentages: Name Team Pct PPG Allen Iverson PHI 41.3 31.2 Carmelo Anthony DEN 49.8 31.0 Joe Johnson ATL 50.4 28.7 Gilbert Arenas WAS 42.7 28.1 Dwyane Wade MIA 46.5 28.0 Michael Redd MIL 46.7 28.0 Vince Carter NJ 48.4 27.9 Kobe Bryant LAL 48.2 26.6 LeBron James CLE 47.1 26.4 Yao Ming HOU 52.2 26.1 Iverson is the only top 10 scoring player with such a crappy shooting percentage. He's a chucker. He also plays more minutes than any of these other players so his scoring numbers are somewhat inflated. Guy
-
Baron Davis is a chucker too, no disagreement about that. That's the biggest flaw in his game. A great player makes his team compete -- he does not lead them into the eastern conference basement. Otherwise you're just a guy who puts up great numbers on a shitty team. Guy
-
I'm not impressed. The guy shoots a mediocre 41% from the field and his team is last in the eastern (!) conference. Guy
-
That's Liz Taylor? wowoweewa! Guy
-
That's a horrible trade. Hopefully it's just a rumor or Chris Mullin should be drawn and quartered. It's only worth getting Iverson if (A) the Warriors keep Ellis & Biedrins and (B) they manage to get rid of at least one of the Foyle/Dunleavy/Murphy contracts. Otherwise, send the overrated chucker somewhere else. Guy
-
The Warriors actually WON A CLOSE GAME tonight. Too bad the easy schedule is over. Time to see if they can actually win on the road. Guy

Liz Taylor was good looking once? Guy

"I love you Spartacus!" - Tony Curtis "He'll know because I'll tell him." - Jean Simmons Weird -- I totally don't remember him, though it's been a while since I've seen the movie. Back to Star Trek -- I also really enjoyed the episode where Riker was "kidnapped by the Romulans" and woke up 20 years later. Also, the episode where people started vanishing from the Enterprise except for Dr. Crusher (though this one got a little ridiculous near the end). Even the obligatory "Counselor Troi's mom" episode was good for a change. Overall seasons 4 and 3 were terrific, hopefully 5 and 6 won't be too much of a letdown. Guy
-
The fourth season is my favorite. What did you think of the episode with Jean Simmons? It was damn good, though I kind of got the feeling they were trying to do too much in 45 minutes. Who is Jean Simmons, out of curiosity -- I am not familiar with her. Guy
