I was referring to the old arcade games. Man, I've always dreamed of having a miniature arcade in my basement. I'd love to have a Galaga machine, Donkey Kong (and Donkey Kong Jr.), Pac Man, Defender, etc... Sears used to sell a standup cabinet that came loaded with a bunch of game, but I'm not sure if they do anymore.

Haven't heard that one yet. From what I've heard from others it's pretty decent. Is that your impression? Has a lot of stuff from the abbreviated/meltdown '88 tour which IMO he was playing some of the best solos he ever played. Fire And Chains, the solos from Hot Plate Heaven and Cruisin' For Burgers... I think the biggest downfall of Guitar is the period the majority of the songs came from. The early 80's were a serious mixed bag for him as both a composer and musician.

As a fellow Zappa fan I have to say that if you like every single thing Zappa did, there may be something terribly wrong with you. He made a ton of great music, but he also made quite a bit of not-so-great-to-bad music. Shut Up is a masterpiece, IMO. Yet Guitar is nearly a snoozefest....

That was pretty funny.

Don't sweat it. I was only 3 when these albums came out. -

"Rolling Stones - Goat's head soup.....(not a good years for the Stones)" Yeah, but considering the four album hot streak they were coming off of, it can be forgiven. And really, it wasn't that bad of an album. -

Zappa pandering to the masses?! That needs to be quoted for posterity! -
Actually have two: Night Shift -The Commodores I realize many people feel they ceased to be relavent after Richie left, but this mellow and touching tune became my absolute favorite fom their catalog. And... Stay At Peace - Fredrik Kronkvist Quartet I've never been a huge fan of ballads, so they have to be pretty special for me to really latch on. Most beautiful and haunting ballad I've heard since Branford's cover of Dinner For One Please, James.

I'm also grateful that I got into Branford Marsalis which introduced me to the fantastic pianist Joey Calderazzo. -

I'm not a huge fan of Scofield or Metheny, but this album is quite simply fantastic. I was glad I got it when I did because it made me seek out Bill Stewart's Blue Note releases. Which went out of print for around a decade shortly after. Haven't listened to it for maybe 6-8 years, but will dust it off now. Thanks, Larry! -

I honestly think part of the problem is perception based on professional careers. Woodson's professional career got off to a slow and somewhat insignificant start. He's only really come on in the latter part of it. While Manning has pretty much been a future Hall of Famer from the second he stepped on the field in Indianapolis. -

No, there was absolutely no controversy. Especially considering the ref is standing only a few feet from him, AND looking directly at his foot as it comes down. And to most everyone who watched him play, there was no controversy surrounding his Heisman, either. Vols fans whined and carried on, but the simple fact is that when Peyton had to step up in his big game, he fell flat. Whereas Woodson played even bigger in big games. Woodson was the best all around player in the NCAA that year. -

Because all of your posts scream it. If you don't like subjective awards, which almost all of them are, then don't pay attention to them. That's what grown ups do. It's a better alternative than acting like you're an expert on a subject you're obviously unfamiliar with. You weren't even familiar with the difference rules of possession. I'd encourage you to stick with politics and music. Also your rubber/glue rebuttal did give me a chuckle. -

Wow let's whine and cry about subjective awards because that will make us look smart and "in the know", because we're crushingly desperate to be the focal point of every conversation. Never mind that we never saw any of those players play that year. Very immature. And for an award you feel is a complete sham, you sure do expend a lot of emotion protesting who won it. -

The most grating part of your personality is your insistence on commenting on things you are completely unfamiliar with. I watched him play all throughout his collegiate career. I've been watching football rather intently for 32 years now. Longer than you've been alive, IIRC. I know the game extremely well, and I consider myself highly qualified in evaluating good players from bad. Please move on. Saw him play at the U. of M. He was something else. His college game can only be compared to Deion Sanders pro career in that he could completely take control of a game all by himself. It could be argued that he was the most dominant college player every year he played. -

I beg everyone's pardon here, but if you think Woodson didn't deserve the Heisman, you obviously did not watch his collegiate career. -
Thumbs up for Polk Audio. I've been using them for decades. Still one of the most transparent speakers for under a grand.
