  1. And not necessarily for the solo, but the theme of Ruby, My Dear has always been one of my favorites.
  2. I'm not sure how it will work, exactly. From what I've been reading it looks as though they will offer individual patches for games. Seems rather odd and inefficient. But have your son do a search for DX10 patches for whatever games he needs them for. It shouldn't be hard for him to get the information he's looking for.
  3. You can change their look back to "classic" which looks like the '98/ME interface. It's the first thing I did when I got my latest comp with XP on it. I basically agree with Jim and the others who say there simply is no reason to upgrade. If indeed it's really an upgrade at all. Uncle Skid, from what I've read there will be a DX10 patch for gamers who still use XP. There's a big hullabaloo about the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator needing DX10 to run properly. Even on the bigtime over-caffeinated machines.
  4. Count me as another who's a big fan of Lulu's Back In Town! I would say my all time favorite is Functional from the album Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane. What an unbelievable tune!! And it's nice to see some of his Columbia work being mentioned here. Some folks seem to dismiss that period far to easily.
  5. Wow!! Happy B-Day, Brother Noj!!
  6. Haven't seen Lady In The Water and probably won't. I really like Paul Giamatti and try to catch everything he's in. But M. Night has yet to make a decent movie, IMO.
  7. I'm assuming he's referring to the Oscars?
  8. I predict I will go see my Royals several times this season. Might even see 'em win one!!
  9. Just got back from his solo performance at Murry's. Awesome show, and one hell of a nice cat!! My buddy took a pic of the two of us, but it didn't show up on my cameras memory card when I got home.
  10. Guess I know where I need to visit today. Thanks for the heads up, kh. I didn't realize these were on the market!! Though, I wish they would have included Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting from Antibes....
  11. That's quite a progression!!
  12. You forgot Ric Flair. Thank you!
  13. Well, Chuck, I enjoy posting here. And I enjoy the discourse that most here engage in. I appreciate a variety of views, especially when they are counter to my own. You don't learn anything by talking to people who agree with everything you do. And it is so noted that you don't want me here. Again, and again, and again,...............you try to make that point at least three or four times a week. I have done nothing to warrant these petty attacks, and I'm going to try my best to no longer rise to your childish bait. If I am that detrimental to your psychological well-being, then simply ignore my posts, or lobby Jim to boot me from the site.
  14. They usually don't. Which is why I don't show up in them (the music forums here) very often.
  15. Of course Chris is an important figure in Jazz. Nobody is trying to deny that. But he no longer talks about Jazz. He rarely did it on JC, and if you take a quick trip over to AAJ you'll see the entire front page of the Current Events section filled with nothing but NYT op-ed pieces.
  16. Yeah, but maybe he thought he could actually prevent the rape. But had he called police, the act would have been done and everyone would have fled the scene by the time they eventually showed up. It obviously was a hasty decision that turned quite bad, but I agree with Mr. Twizzle on this one.
  17. Shouldn't we all have to post some hot looking chicks, or something? Happy B-Day, Mr. Weil!!
  18. Kids these days with their 6 million watt car system that are powerful enough to stop the human heart will surely be deaf before they're 30. I wonder what kind of spl's most of those stereos are putting out.
  19. I'd be more than "slightly" disturbed, my friend.
  20. BAH!! Damn Websense!! Have to wait until I get home. U2 is a great band. They kind of lost their way for a few years there, but their last two albums are fantastic.
  21. 15, "feels like" 5. Considering how cold our winter has been here, relative to the last few, I can't believe we've never gotten below 0. I was reading 0.2 here one night in December, but that's as low as it's been.
  22. Damn! Be careful, brother. My toes got to that frostbite line once a few years back. Ouch is right!!
  23. It could be right, Conn. I doubt it will be quite that high, but the east coast is so jam packed anymore property values continue to skyrocket. Hell, the lat place we had in central Florida gave us a $10,000 profit when we sold it. And we hadn't even owned it for two full years. Either way, it's still not worth it to me. Not for all the shit you have to put up with.
  24. Ah, so you don't really like it that much? I can dig the whole being "stuck" thing. Been there. And you're right, if you can say one nice thing about Florida it's that their roads are second to none.
  25. Dan, Doesn't matter to me, really. The house we bought here would have run close to a half million bucks where we used to live. Plus, taxes here are a fraction of what they are down there. Not to mention insurance. I remember when I first called to get our cars insured here. When he gave me the quote, I said "no, I mean for the entire year". So did he. So, all in all, you're not really making out that muh better with your appreciation than I already am on a monthly basis. Besides, sitting out on my deck looking over the Missouri hills and not hearing a sound while watching the sunset is worth the difference. I do miss the Gulf though, I'll admit that. But it's just too damn crowded for my taste anymore. You're right about the snowbirds, too. That's where your overcrowding comes from. Less and less return home every year. How many true Floridians have you ever met? People were always astonished by the fact that I was one. And those Frogheads (that's what the blue-haired demons are referred to on the Gulf side) are truly a disaster waiting to happen. Spent many a day fighting my way through the Froghead Death Match. Oh, and one more thing I don't miss. Road rage. And Florida is the road rage capital of the world.
