  1. Based on the previews for Touch I decided not to watch it. Plus I really hate Kiefer Sutherland, so I avoid him whenever possible.
  2. I would say that's most likely true of the vast majority. Americans get so much flag-waving superiority shoved down their throats from such an early age it's hard to take a "global view" of anything. Add to that the INSANE proliferation of Christianity at the expense of all reason here and you have a perfect little petrie dish of narrow-minded morons happily thinking the U.S. IS the fucking world.
  3. I'm in no way a "Mac Addict". I worked on PCs (and did tech support for them) for over 15 years. I dealt with the endless nightmare of crashes, bad operating system design, "service pack" installations, viruses, etc. Then I switched to Mac a few years ago and my life became INFINITELY easier. After wasting 15 years of my life "TURD POLISHING" with Windows...I've never been happier. I don't use Macs because I want to be part of a cult, I use them because they just WORK when they are supposed to.
  4. Haven't gotten that far yet, just starting on Season 3. Easily my favorite sitcom in recent memory. Mine is 'Big Bang Theory'. Love that show, never fails to make me laugh. I've only seen a couple episodes of that one so far, I'll add it to "the list". Thanks!
  5. The Cannonball Adderley Sextet recordings are my favorites.
  6. I doubt it. In a year of taking at least 30 tech support calls per day at Apple, I never ran across a single verifiable virus on the operating system. Zero. My friend that worked tech support at Dell told me around 70% of his support calls were virus related.
  7. I installed the latest Java update from Apple today, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
  8. Haven't gotten that far yet, just starting on Season 3. Easily my favorite sitcom in recent memory.
  9. a short clip from the Avengers that nicely shows off Scarlett's "attributes". This clip feels like an outtake from Buffy, that's a good thing!
  10. If Stanley Turrentine is on it, or if it was release on CTI I probably LOVE it. Stanley is one of my most-played jazz artists, I don't see that ever changing.
  11. All this talk about The Killing got me curious, I just watched the series Pilot and it was excellent. I'm looking forward to the rest of season 1.
  12. I usually shop at Ralph's or Albertson's here, Trader Joes is a little too far from the apartment and who really wants to compete with West Hollywood parking just for the benefit of shopping there.
  13. I really dig the Helen Merrill/Dick Katz version of Lonely Woman.
  14. I like "The Way You Look Tonight" when taken at ballad tempo, but it's not a good flag-waver tune as it unfortunately seems to be most of the time.
  15. I actually heard the source version of Stella By Starlight (the 1944 supernatural film The Uninvited) prior to hearing a jazz version of it. When I first heard the Miles version from 1958 Miles I was like...oh yeah, I've seen that!
  16. Coltrane's version of Invitation is wonderful. I also HATE the march beat. There is a variation of it on "Scotch Blues" on the Kenny Burrell Blue Lights release. I hated the introductory section so much I edited it out and re-burned the CD with that edit. Satin Doll grates on my nerves, always has, not really sure why.
  17. H-y-p-n-o-t-i-c
  18. A.R.C.D. - Age Related Cognitive Decline. I know, I suffer from the same thing...or at least that's the excuse I'm sticking with.
  19. Happy Birthday! Hope it's a great one.
  20. Finished up Life season 2 (too bad the show didn't last longer, I really liked it). Now moving on to:
  21. I can, also know how to tie my shoes.
  22. I think that group swings like mad, really enjoy the combination of these two guys. Very fun records.
  23. Yeah, I can definitely understand that! Yowza. I also realized that Gillian Jacobs was in "The Box" playing the babysitter, she's lovely as well. I think the show is hilarious, I love the style.
