  3. Put a Churchill in the middle guys mouth and you could call them the Marx Brothers..... Sorry!
  4. I hear it too. Never made too much it, other than Green rubbing off on Parlan during the session. Green's grooves and licks are pretty addicting.
  5. I wish this was the case with what I'm listening to now. Sonny Sharrock/Black Woman. It's pretty much causing my head to explode. I guess it's time for some Parlan.
  6. Lately it's been: Moby: Play James Brown: Say It Loud...
  7. 40 years!! This just does not compute. Seems impossible.
  8. When Concord bought Fantasy I posted, "Why? Most of the catalog will be PD in 5 years." Made no sense to me with the EU PD labels already reissuing early Blue Note performances. Time will tell.....
  9. There ya go!! What refreshing comments that reveal what's at the heart of the purpose of music/art and of course, the artist.
  10. Otis Rush: Mourning in The Morning (Sundazed LP) Dizzy Reece: Star Bright (Mono) (Classic Records LP BN 4023) John Jenkins: John Jenkins with Kenny Burrell (Mono) (Classic Records LP BLP 1573) Frank Sinatra: Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim (Rhino LP )
  11. Why do get the feeling this is a totally goofy auction and most of the LP's are trashed.
  12. Bob Dylan: Bob Dylan (Sundazed) Nat Cole: Just One Of Those Things (S&P Records reissue) Elvis Costello and the Imposters: Delivery Man (Lost Highway) Elvis Costello and the Imposters: The Clarksdale Sessions (Lost Highway 10")
  13. I've done things as stupid, but I'm keeping them to myself.
  14. A series of BN's were issued on vinyl around 1994, mastered by Wally Traugott.
  15. I've got a couple for sale(JR Monterose and Griffin/Congregation), as I now have the Classic versions. Listening to: Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with Monk(4 Men With Beards stellar reissue) Sonny Sharrock: Black Woman(4 Men With Beards reissue) Isaac Hayes: Hot Buttered Soul(Fairly recent Mobile Fidelity reissue)

  17. Thanks!! I'll pick up the Sinatra/Jobim ASAP. Very nice analog/vinyl reissue available.
  18. Any thoughts regarding "Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim" from 1967? My only other Sinatra album is "September Of My Years", which I like.

    Hubbard and Morgan

To me, it's simple. How well do they communicate their idea/message? Both did it flawlessly on numerous occasions. Both have a couple, absolutely stunning albums on BN. I could care less how they achieved it. In the final analysis, regarding my favorite albums of each, I have no favorite. Works for me...YMMV
  25. Wow!!! That's the most I've seen a Blue Note go for. You got a copy, Brownie?
