  1. Well, the Blue Note 45RPM series by our friend Ron Rombach at Music Matters comes to mind...how's that??? A third thread questioning RTI was deleted. And I've been the last post on these threads. Entire threads GONE!!!!!! Most LP's brag about being pressed at RTI, so it should not be hard to spot them. LMAO..3 threads from the Hoffman board are gone. I read that place once every couple months. I noticed a ton of bad comments about RTI. I made 3 comments/observations, and 3 entire threads are gone! Entire threads!!!! That Hoffman is a cunt!!!!
  2. Anything done at RTI in Cali(too bad the fires missed these chumps) is what I am talking about. Warner sounds right, but anything pressed at this plant is also game. From what I gather(and assumed from the start), RTI is to blame for the bad Classic Records pressings, yet they were tight lipped for years. This guy Hoffman, as much as I like his work, is a complete pussy. He knew this shit and said nothing. What a cunt!!! The deleted threads had more info.......
  3. This will be short. Maybe others can chime in. RTI has not disclosed the fact that they have been using terribly inferior vinyl. Hoffman board deleted a 100 post thread(not my post #101, the whole thread) when I called a spade a spade. They have betrayed my trust. At least in the 70's we were told. These guys did not say shit when they could not get good vinyl, but still charged $30+ an LP!!!!! Another complete thread at Hoffman's deleted when I said RTI was not up front and honest. WOW!! I knew the mods there were whack, but not this bad. LSS...the pressing QC totally butchered the lastest Hoffman re-masterings(which were great) of ZZTOP and James Taylor.
  4. Horace Parlan Quintet: Speakin' My Piece (Music Matters/Blue Note) 45RPM Test pressing. Thanks RR
  5. I don't know who Hoffman/Gray are. I do own 40-50 LP's they've remastered/cut. Am I the only one that has their product? If so, please STFU!!!! Unbelievable thread.
  6. What a funny thread... Hoffman/Gray and master tapes gettin' slammed!!! LMAO For God's sake, rip the master tapes from RVG"s deaf ears/hands!!!! I can't wait to buy a few of these!!!
  7. FN sick!!! I had no idea they'd snag these titles. WOW!!!!!!!!! I have 10K LP's and have not bought any in a year. I'll be all over these. BASRA at 45rpm!!! OTL at 45rpm!! I've heard most of these in their original form. I can't wait to hear these in their Hoffman/Gray form. Japan knows Hoffman/Gray. Japan knows BN's. I see a severe drop in originals of these titles. I know I'll be selling mine!!!
  8. MR4-111 Stone cold mint. Van Gelder in dead wax. Box, booklet and records as new!!! $115.00 Paypal, etc....
  9. Claude, thanks for the heads up. Even on SACD it depends on re-mastering, as I'm sure you are well aware. I am a Hoffman/Gray fan. The reason, their vinyl reissues are great sounding. It's too bad Hoffman/Gray did not do the Classic Records 33rpm's. I'm sure the people that buy these will be very, very satisfied. Hoffman knows what to with some of the severe flaws in BN master tapes. With public domain companies taking over(and being heavily supported by many on this board), and no one else licensing these titles/master tapes for a quality release, let them have at it!!!!
  10. 43 Mil in revenue(204 Mil in assets), and the guy gets a Mil a year. I'd hire him!! He puts asses in the seats!!!! Quit your whining/hating!!!!
  11. That's a pretty damn good price for a Cuban Cohiba if you're in the states... Yes, it's actually the best price outside of Cuba or Spain that I know of. Very reputable vendor I've been buying from for 5 years. He works out of a bonded wharehouse in a large Asian country. Also, the robustos are not the most expenxive in the Cohiba line-up.
  12. Cheap red wine....but I'm smoking a semi--expensive Cuban cigar(Chohiba Robusto 25/$318)
  13. Hey Claude, I have the following, maybe a few more. As you can see, some of the tapes are 50 years old, but SC gets the most out of them. They all get played a ton. I've practically worn out the Peer Gynt and Petrushka and I've only had them for 8-10 years. The Presley was done by Gray/Hoffman and is a stunner. I sold my DCC of the title when I heard they were doing it again. Fremer/Musicangle.com has done a few reviiews of SC releases. You may need to do some searching for 'best sounding' SC re-issues. Never a QC problem. Side note: Classic Records reissues of the Everest(35mm tape) catalogue are getting rave reviews..something to check out. Sonny Boy Williamson: The Real Folk Blues Roy Eldridge: Rockin' Chair Grieg: “Peer Gynt” Stravinsky: “Petrushka” Schubert: “Trout” Quintet Gerry Mulligan Meets Ben Webster Ben Webster: “Soulville“ Elvis Presley: Elvis Is Back Lester Young: The President Plays With The Oscar Peterson Trio
  14. I have about 80 Classic Records titles. They are a no brainer as long as you buy from a dealer that takes defective copies back(1-15 were defective). In packaging, they have no equal. All analogue. Neil Young, Ry Cooder, Shaded Dogs, along with the BN's re-issues are the best out there.
  15. Nice to see when you Google 'UCLA...1965'..Mingus pops up.....LMAO... Do you think the young Wooden gave Mr. Mingus the time of day??? I wonder if the Wizard attended? UCLA hoops 64-65...National Champions..Goodrich, Keith Erickson(saw him and Washington play when I was 8, but never heard Mingus)UCLA D1 Champs Mingus should have played at Texas Western in '66 for the D1 BB Championship banquet....Haskins/Mingus vs Rupp..oh, hell yeah!!! UCLA Sept '65...the Wizard was getting ready to defend title..Oregon State....Kentucky and Texas Western put an to that....maybe, he was too busy recruiting Alcindor... UCLA Football in '64/65...a few months before/after Mingus performed...UCLA UCLA Sept '65...what month were the Watts riots??? All I remember is not being allowed to go outside., and it was hot..and a few neighbors ending up in hospital... Mingus...1965...UCLA....Watts riots...for him to accomplish what he did is amazing....thanks
  16. Paul Allen is all over this...end of story. Another wing will be added to the Experience.... Thanks Mr. Allen.... Bring it back to Seattle..now,...if we could only get the mono-rail up and running.... Go 'Hawks!!! Allen...Trailblazers...WTF...dude, dump the Blazers, and give the Okies some $$$ to STFU....
  17. I can only imagine...thanks, Brownie....why can't Hanks do a movie 'bout this, instead of Terminal?
  18. Looks like Michel is a Cohn desciple..... Dmitry, glad you got a keeper. Very decent sounding Blue Note, with or w/o the ear. Did I sell you this one?? I had a few copies, and only see a stereo on my shelves.
  19. Today's 'boys are a bunch of pussies. LMAO Hollywood.....so far gone on coke Dorsett........so far gone on JB and pussy Tony Hill.......busy keeping the above two game ready..LMAO The NFL is so politically correct these days... TO is the only player the boys have these days, but he arrived 30 years too late.

  21. Good week for me.... Thank you Michigan....if SC does not get hit by sanctions before they play Auburn for another title....... LSU vs Auburn.. Oh my FN God!!!!! These are the 2 best teams in the country, that $$ can buy. Throw SC into that mix, also. Washington State Cougs overcome Baylor at Qwest. I know the Cougs All American DE, Bruce. U of Washington beats Fresno State. UW took a knee at the Fresno 1 yard line, or it would have been an 8 point win. We are all pulling for the ex-ND coach to get things turned around. Oregon by one over the Sooners ... Hell yeah!!! But the real game is St. Bonaventure vs Oaks Christian, coming up this Friday on FOX. OC's Clausen(ND bound, number one prospect in USA) and Tyler(SC, Wendell's kid).. they have played no one..vs Bonny who has played and beaten everyone.
  22. USA goes 1, 2, 1, 1 in the 4x100 and 4x400 M & W sprint relays to kick ass on the final day. USA 4x100 Thank god high school track is over for these guys...time to play some football.. Most of the USA mens 4x100 and 4x400 will be suiting up for their HS FB team, or SC, ND, Ohio State, etc. this fall!!! Chris Carter was a MF stud for the good 'ol USA!! And , being a Morman, I'm sure he was drug free. Thank god this meet was not held in France...LMAO Final medal count... Nuff said. Oh, thanks to all the US institutions that subsidize these great kids!!!
  23. Beijing 2006 So far, no doping busts. Down year for the USA, but this MF kicked ass. And to think, he'll be walking around the world in a white shirt and black tie for 2 years, before shooting for the 2012 Olympics. It's amazing what these 17 year olds go through. One week, Eugene, OR....next week Beijing, China(BTW, what an arm pit of the planet this place is). This kid from Kenya won the 800M. His dad won a silver at Mexico City in '68(an Olympics that is etched in my memory for various reasons...). I'm assuming this Estonia kid is high on life, not juice, after taking a double in the shot and discus. AMAZING at the Junior Worlds!!
  24. WTF is a rekkid? If it is something half way decent I'll shoot some jazz LP's your way. I'd recommend the Mosaic Miles sets, but they probably cost more than your entire stereo. Correct me if I'm wrong. 6 jazz LP's.LMAO... I'm glad you have your Styx LP's, as I never bought any. And, those that were given to me(20+), were in the next days trash. It's tough finding jazz vinyl at Half Price Books these days. I do not even bother. Try Cadence. Try eBay, for some 2.99+ LP's to stock up your collection. These days, I like eBay for the non-collectable stuff(under $10). Tons and tons for under a tenner. Hell, you can get a few original BN's for a song if you know what you are doing. Paul Secor should have some very nice affordable LP's up for grabs some time soon(I love Classic's mono Atomic Basie, BTW). Pick up a few $10 OJC's. I think a thread addressed to "Big Al getting some jazz vinyl" is in order!!!
