  1. So, please explain, how are you playing music through this old radio?
  2. Those are both excellent. I don't believe these have been reissued on CD.
  3. Ira Sullivan (Horizon) Duke Ellington/Bobby Hackett, Goodyear Jazz Concert
  4. I've been a big fan since his album on the Horizon label came out, but sadly never got to hear him play in person.
  5. I've never heard the record--though I did hear Sun Ra perform a live version of Nuclear War (you can kiss your ass good-bye)..

  7. Delvon Lamarr, Live at KEXP (Colemine)
  8. Bizarrely, a new CD of this album is available from amazon in the range of $191-$217. The Collectibles version, oddly paired with Ornette, is a mere $118.
  9. Steve Kuhn Trio, To and From the Heart (Sunnyside)
  10. Roland Kirk and Al Hibbler, A Meeting of the Times (Atlantic)
  11. Ralph Towner, Old Friends, New Friends (ECM) Earl Hines, Quintessential Recording Session (Chiaroscuro) Toshiko Akiyoshi-Lew Tabakin Orchestra, Long Yellow Road (RCA) Red Rodney, Red, White and Blues (Muse)
  12. I have a King pressing and a 70s era blue label pressing. The King is preferred but the 70s pressing is an acceptable alternative.
  13. America's Greatest Jazzmen (Coleman Hawkins, Tommy Flanagan, Willis Jackson, Gene Ammons, Ted Curson, Dave Pike) Play The Broadway Scene (Prestige Moodsville) Jimmy Rowles, The Paws that Refresh (Choice)(
  14. Bunk Johnson, The King of the Blues (American Music)
  15. I didn't realize that A Fireside Chat with Lucifer had previously been reissued.
  16. The reissue of A Fireside Chat with Lucifer (on CD and LP) is imminent. https://sunra-mh.bandcamp.com/album/a-fireside-chat-with-lucifer
  17. Rokia Traore, Wanita (Label Bleu)
  18. I am highly pleased. It is an excellent performance and the sound is good. Recorded by the unknown Jack Towers of high school custodians.
  19. Monk, Palo Alto (Impulse)
  20. Received my copy of the Monk CD from Amazon UK in the mail today.
  21. Christian Scott, Axiom (Stretch Music)
  22. Count Basie, Hall of Fame (Verve) Chick Corea, Bliss (Muse) (aka, Pete LaRoca, Turkish Women at the Bath) I haven't heard the original Douglas LP, but this Muse reissue has quite fine sound.
  23. The depth of your collection is impressive. I typically only have heard about two of the records you list each week. (This week the two Cecil McBees and the Kenny Wheeler).
  24. Vernon Reid, David Torn, Elliott Sharp, Guitar Oblique (Knitting Factory)
