If true, I must be a half step sharp. -
The duo livestream with David Murray from the Village Vanguard a few weeks ago was excellent. I saw him live once backing up David Murray at Winter Jazzfest in NYC a couple of years ago.

His new CD, Now, available from Bandcamp in a double CD edition of only 300, has been dominating my listening the last week or so. It is wonderful--a trio that sounds like a working band and compelling original material. https://lafayettegilchrist-morphius.bandcamp.com/album/now-double-album-2cd-set

Well recorded double album with one side to each pianist. All solo piano. Marian McPartland is the producer. Earl Hines and Teddy Wilson sides are superb. There are perhaps too many medleys, if that bothers you. Definitely a feast of fine solo piano.

Birdland Livestream: This Friday at 7pm, don't miss Ben Allison (bass), Ted Nash (Tenor Sax/Clarinet) & Steve Cardenas (guitar). This cooperative trio is modeled after Jimmy Giuffre’s drummer-less units of the 1950s and 60s.Focusing on compositions by Giuffre and Jim Hall, as well as new spins on classics by Leonard Bernstein, this trio manages a high level performance while maintaining the easy intimacy that has become a hallmark of their sound. A perfect jazz trio for a Friday night. Buy Your Tickets Here! Can't make it this Friday? No worries, this performance will be available on demand for 30 days. Catch this trio and many other wonderful performances ON DEMAND HERE!
