I enjoyed the concert--the tenor player is quite skilled, one of those inside/outside players. Hopefully there will be another opportunity soon, and I'll try to be there.
A CD (CDr?) of a portion of this concert is now available from Ronald Shannon Jackson's website, complete with some mighty confusing ordering and pricing rules.
I've attempted to order this along with a 1994 Decoding Society concert recording; we'll see how this goes.

I caught the last set by the Steve Davis Sextet Saturday night , and a fine set it was in the Jazz Messenger vein. Larry Willis was a semi-regular house pianist at the Caravan of Dreams in the mid-1980s, and he's still sounding as good as ever.
Next week, I'm looking forward to the Brooklyn Underground festival for two nights.
There's now another one (or is it a branch?) in Roxbury, NY: http://popcultureblog.dallasnews.com/2012/08/dallas-no-longer-the-only-city-with-an-eight-track-museum-as-ny-outpost-debuts-in-october-with-worlds-rarest-tape.html/
Not too far from me, but I haven't yet visited.
Don Quixote lives.
Thanks again to the Indian Classical Music Circle of DFW for a fabulous concert in Allen, Texas. Vishwa Mohan Bhaat on the Mohan Veena (a modified guitar sounding like a cross between a sitar and a guitar), and Subhen Chatterjee on tabla.
There is an audible hum that I can hear when the speakers are turned on. I can't say that I ever noticed it, or that it has bothered me, while actually listening to music, but perhaps those with better ears than mine can hear the hum and are bothered.
I don't have stands yet, but was thinking that would be a good idea.
These speakers can certainly put out high volume.
Here's a couple of reviews:

I recently acquired PSB Alpha PS1 powered speakers for my computer and am very happy with them.
