FFA GrillFest 2008 continues...... Applewood smoked BBQ chicken, more grilled corn and red creamer potatoes.

Instant messaging- that's another thing that can be extremely annoying. While I do enjoy it on occasion, I have a few friends who are excessively chatty and I find myself ducking out of my AOL account quickly after checking email (and I see who is online) to avoid getting cornered and drawn into a long "conversation".

I've always wanted one of these bad boys... ...,but I don't have the space for it, and I usually don't cook large amounts of food, so it would be way more than I need. That little Weber smoker is much better than the cheaper Brinkman version. I can smoke short-term projects (like chicken) on my Weber kettle, but I want to learn to make killer pulled pork, ribs and beef brisket, so I need a real smoker.

After years of dissatisfaction with the results, I finally ditched the drip coffeemaker method and am now using one of these: Some people also use the Chemex version of this which is also excellent. With a good adjustable burr grinder and some good quality coffee (I order it from a place in Georgia called St. Ives Roasters) the result is that I can FINALLY make a good cup of coffee at home.

Latest acquisition..... Time to smoke some pork butt! All I need is some friends to feed.............

I miss the days when you could "hide" from contact. Just a phone machine, and if you weren't at home, too bad. Now we're reachable anytime and anywhere. Email, texting, voicemail at home & at work. No more hiding. I have a love/hate relationship with my cell phone and email accounts.

I agree with you. I still don't understand how they decide what games happen when. Assuming the Celts close this out tonight, why do they get a week off until Game 1 of the Finals? Why not a 36 hour turnaround like the Spurs had last time? Well, it's the difference between closing it out in 6 instead of 7 games, right?

If the Celtics have any hope of beating the red-hot Lakers, they need to win this one tonight and get a bit of a rest. I think that was a factor in the Spurs series.
