French bass player Jacky Samson who was a member of the Georges Arvanitas Trio for years died on October 3 in the French Burgundy village of Précy-sous-Thils where he retired in 2000. He was 72. In addition to Arvanitas, Samson played and recorded with Ted Curson, Teddy Wilson, Anita O'Day, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Eddie Davis, Sonny Criss, Pepper Adams, Michel Legrand among others.

A great musician has gone Tchicai spent his later years in a village near Perpignan in southern France. He seems to have enjoyed the lifestyle there. No word yet on his passing away in the local newspaper.

You obviously went to the secondary adress at 8 rue de Nancy. The main adress (at Rue de Navarre) was open a few days ago. They are usually open from Tuesday to Saturday.
