  1. Nice find indeed! Was not aware of that EP release until I saw it listed in the Ayler.co site! Looks like it was included with the 'Il Jazz' magazine. Italian publications did that at the time (they still may do it now...). Hope Valerie Wilmer got proper credit for her photo in the liner notes!
  2. Dick Hyman 'James P. Johnson' 'Charleston' (Columbia, stereo) Ruby Braff featured!
  3. Hope that October 2011 release date will prove to be true. It's been a very long wait for that book! Same for Peter Pullman's book on Bud Powell which does not seem to be nearing a release date
  4. Johnny Hodges Small Groups 1956-61 box, discs 5 and 6
  5. Hank Mobley Quintet 'Hank' (BN/Toshiba Japan) Great KD (and Mobley) session!
  6. Pony's Express was reissued by Koch a few years ago. It was also reissued in 2007 by Sony/CBS France with one alternate of 'Lanyop' which was not on the original LP or the Koch CD. Pony's Express
  7. Cecil Taylor and Amin Baraka in Barcelona July 2010.
  8. Buck Clayton Complete CBS Jam Sessions, disc 3
  9. When '1976' came out on CD on Why Not, it carried MTCJ-2009.
  10. What a sad way to finish one's life... I'll forgive her for not taking care of her albums. These show quite an interesting taste. The zen album is this one:
  11. Jaki Byard 'To Them, To Us' (SoulNote)
  12. This was the '1976' original cover on Why Not: Never ran into that one. Nice to have Candid reissue it!
  13. Chico Freeman 'Morning Prayer' (Why Not)
  14. Why Not albums wdere carefully produced and manufactured. Bought several of them when they came out (on vinyl): Air, Ted Curson, Walt Dickerson Charles Sullivan. There is also an Andrew Cyrille album (Junction) that also came out on IPS. Excellent sound on all those I heard.
  15. I've got that one - it's got some great stuff on it. Awesome release. Thoroughly enjoyed LP 1 also! Now spinning: Karin Krog 'I Remember You' (Spotlite)
  16. Done, Marcel. Thanks for making us aware of this intiative. I will forward this "call for action" to my collecting friends (most of them in the rockabilly, R&B and country music field where there are LOTS of "abandoned" or "orphan" recordings that would definitely NOT benefit from any such extended copyright "protection" initiated by the bigwigs). Hope they will all act really fast too. Added my name to the list.
