  1. Jacques Coursil has a new album 'Trails of Tears' out this week. His first CD since the EmArcy 'Clameurs' from 2007. The album can be listened/downloaded here. 'Trails of Tears' is a reflection on the 1838 deportation of Cherokees from Georgia to Oklahoma.
  2. I have the film "Repulstion" but not the score. Has it been released? The CD that was supposed to come out a few years back got delayed, and then I lost track. Britain's Harkit released some of the music. Details.
  3. In my head only. Meant 'Repulsion', of course... ... and correcting my previous post!
  4. Thelonious Monk 'Misterioso' (Columbia, stereo)
  5. Speaking of Chico Hamilton, have you tried the music of Krzysztof Komeda for Polanski's 'Repulsion' with Chico Hamilton featured for music as intriguing as the film? Other music from Komeda certainly worth exploring too!
  6. I did it. Now I'm depressed
  7. Sunny Murray 'An Even Break' (Byg Actuel Stereo + Mono) with Byard Lancaster Kenneth Terroade, Malachi Favors
  8. Would have been interested on getting some of those mags several years ago but my place cannot take in magazines anymore! No more spare room
  9. They could not even find an image of the set cover! Amazon.can did!
  10. Lee Morgan 'Live at the Lighthouse' (BN), discs 2 and 3
  11. How about Barney Kessel? The first Poll Winners album should be a good start for the 'perfect jazz guitar tone' you're looking for...
  12. Lucky Roberts 'Happy Go Lucky' (Period) with Garvin Bushell, Joe Benjamin and Herbert Cowens
  13. Just what was needed when I'm trying to cut down on spending money on records purchase! Obviously music to get!
  14. Jazzlips seems associated with this release. A bootleg! Not even OK by EU 50-years copyrights limit standards (the George Cables/Joe Farrell bonus tracks are from 1982).
  15. Can't remember ever seeing a BN vinyl with a deadwax marking like that! vangelder stamp, yes! BLUENOTE stamp, no!
  16. FreshSound Records are reissuing the two Contemporary albums plus the Atlantic 'The Shape of Jazz to Come' (including its two additional tracks) on a double CD 'Too Much, Too Soon' out this month:
  17. The good people at FreshSound are reissuing the Lyle Murphy '50s sessions on one disc! The Lord Discography also lists three record sessions by the Lyle 'Spud' Murphy orchestra in 1938 (for Decca) and 1939 (for BlueBird, two sessions)). None of these have been reissued.
