Oops-Jazzypaul is here ... I'm wondering what a Libertarian will say about this. And I say that sincerely, Paul.

Top post updated with the current list.

Brad and Catesta are in, I definitely need to plan to burn a few more at this rate. Still taking submissions; but I will ship to far=reaching places like Russia, South America and Israel on Monday, Europe to follow probably mid-week. I don't want to interfere with Marcus, but since mine is two discs, it probably won't hurt to give some people a longer chance to live with it, if they are so inclined. And I promise I'll get an updated list up soon! But work was crazy, and the Mexican restaurant is calling to me ... soon, after the refried beans, I will be returning that call.

And wasn't "Alexander the Great" written for Eric Alexander? Seriously!

I went through a three day comprehensive medical check-up seven years ago in preparation to be a bone marrow transplant donor. Each morning, my first stop at the hospital was the blood drawing clinic, where they filled at least a dozen vials to be sent off for tests. That never bothered me a bit, and I can definitely say that the nurses liked dealing with me because unlike most of their patients, my veins have always been easy to find.

Thank you, Maren.

Is this really worth it for a pop that lasts a thousandth of a second?
-
I'm with Claude; it can take a while, but you'd be surprised how large a chunk of sound can come out of a wav file without noticing it. Clean clicks might be .002 seconds, and that you'll never notice. But a good old pop can be pretty big, and I've deleted (or muted) pops around .03 seconds and never noticed it afterwards. Its almost as if your ears fill in the missing sound. The only drawback of course is the time involved, if there are a ridiculous amount of clicks, you'll get fed up pretty easily. But if its only a few per track or side, its very much worth it to do it manually.

Because we take child abuse seriously in this country. We also take seriously people who disregard judicial orders. I'm frankly really surprised at your attitude. I knew that Europeans regard extramarital affairs lightly, but this was a sexual relationship with a twelve year old by a thirty + woman! It was rape and child abuse, and she deserved jail.

All emails received, and John B. is in too. Later today I'll post a master list.

I think there's a huge difference between a love affair with a fifteen year old and a love affair with a twelve year old. At least when I was growing up (which wasn't that long ago) most 12 year olds weren't even dating, let alone having sex, let alone becoming involved with an adult teacher! There are 12 year olds who haven't entered puberty yet! From my perspective, its child abuse, pure and simple. And as far as her sentence goes, remember that it was extended after she had further contact with the boy and managed to get pregnant again. The French story is unfortunate, but you can't say that its not damaging when a 12 year old finds himself involved with a 30-something woman. One question: what if the genders were reversed? The fact is, at least in this country, a 30 year old male teacher gets involved with a 12 year old female student. OOH BOY. He's doing hard time, guaranteed. And it won't matter if he drops the soap in the shower or not, he's gonna be somebody's ho in prison.

Happy Birthday, Lon! My first Internet Jazz Pal, and still one of the best!

This really is nice news, especially since they aren't just doing OOP CDs, that Anita O'Day and the Three SOUNDS was only issued as part of the Mosaic set, I think one or two tunes came out on a comp., but the full album has never been reissued on CD.

Everyone who's posted to date has been received, plus White Lightning.

She was a criminal, Brownie. I don't know about the laws in France, but is it generally considered OK for adult teachers to have sex with 12 year olds? Now that she's served her time, and he's an adult, yes, by all means, if they want to get together, get married, whatever, more power to them. But there's something deeply warped about an adult woman falling in "love" with a twelve year old.

I've received from everyone who's posted so far except Marcus. Not sure if your email server is just slow or something, but maybe you should send again, my friend?

Since I harp on other people for not hewing to the schedule, I guess I better get my thread started. The details: 1) Since the PM and Email function of the board is iffy at best, please email me direct: dangould@hotmail.com 2) Its a two-disc BFT, with Theme. I know, pretty ironic after I was one who suggested setting limits. However, what started out as a single disc with theme plus bonus disc quickly became a double disc test. What can I say? I had a lot to share; and for those of you who haven't done this yet, I can only say, if you have any anal-retentive or compulsive tendencies, you really shouldn't do a BFT, it only exacerbates those tendencies. So I strongly suggest that you resign your position, that way I can sign up again and do this yet a third time sometime before John Kerry's second term. 3) I've got 25 sets ready to go when the time comes, but, unless signups decline in the dog days of August, I would appreciate European assistance. ************************************ OK, here's the list: MartyJazz Catesta Brad Lewin Tom Storer dutchmanx RDK (says he can't sit any more out, he loves these too darn much! Tjobbe mikeweil Bright Moments king ubu Marcus Oliveira couw deus62 White Lightning Simon Tucker Brownie Peter Johnson Noj Jim R. Jim Dye John B. Big Al Stefan Wood Man with the Golden Arm take5 Street singer Cannonball Addict Tooter Randy Hersom Adam So, we're at 30, which means no August drop-off after all. Latest Update (August 16): Adam is in just under the gun. However, that exhausts my capacity to handle more signups myself. CDs shipped to both Europe and the States on Friday, so if there are any further last minute signups, hopefully they can be taken care of by a relatively close-by prior recipient. Thanks for your understanding and to everyone who's signed up.

Marcus, Overall I liked it alot, thanks for the compilation. #1-electric piano kinda dates it to the 70s, so I'm gonna say Hubbard CTI session. #2-took me a while to realize what familiar melody that was. Sounds like Eric Alexander to me, and since the piano doesn't sound like Mabern, I'm going to guess Hazeltine. Is this one of those Japanese Venus releases? #3-OK; no guesses. #4-like a lot but no guesses. #5-ditto. #6-I'm gonna go with Bags. #7-no guesses and not my favorite of the bunch. #8-no guesses #9-the Ellington tune, liked a great deal .... #13-one of those annoying tunes cause I know it and think I have it ... but since I had no guess, how could I figure it out? #15-the vocalist was just OK in my opinion. Thanks again, Marcus!

We're talking medical injections here, not piercings or tattoos.
