In comments published Tuesday, the 63-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist said he had snorted his father's ashes mixed with cocaine. "The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," Richards was quoted as saying by British music magazine NME. "He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared," he said. "... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive." Richards' father, Bert, died in 2002, at 84. Richards, one of rock's legendary wild men, told the magazine that his survival was the result of luck, and advised young musicians against trying to emulate him. "I did it because that was the way I did it. Now people think it's a way of life," he was quoted as saying. "I've no pretensions about immortality," he added. So why do public colleges and universities have the minor league sports teams for football and basketball?? Ain't the case for baseball. Why is that?? Why the difference?? They should just have pro-basketball and pro-football run their own (pro) minor leagues, and let the colleges and universities have true amateur (and amateur-grade) sports systems. Because Baseball is harder to play than Football /Basketball.......takes longer to develop player's. Quarterbacks come out of college and start for NFL teams ??!!!

A friend gave me this book as a gift. As a photographer my friends and i use to love looking at Turner's photographs back in the late 70's early 80's . There use to be a book called American Showcase , which was really a big promo book for art director's to find photographers. We loved Turners commercial work , not really these pic's. Now that I'am a pro i can see that really a lot of these are just Gel's and darkroom techniques. Really if you take away alot of the gels the shot's are pretty straight forward and at times mundane . If you look at the Deodato prelude cover with the shadow of the tree up against a brick wall all he did was put a green tint over it and some masking tape on the bottom to create a better edge for a shadow . On the page before he show's the original shot ( without gel )...he tell's in the book that now he likes the original shot better, BUT really it's nothing special, Damn art students do these kinda photo's in their first 2 week's of class. It's still a nice book , especially for me to look thru and hear about all his little tricks and techniques. BUT Walker Evans he is not !
