    Hermeto Pascoal

Such an incredible video. I think that over time I have sent this to almost every music fan I know.
  2. Tony Scott - Manteca How do you find it, with the passing of the years?
  3. I’m extremely allergic to crossover attempts between jazz and hip hop (as opposed to other electronic, “urban” or rap genres, which I think work more naturally, or hip hop with jazz samples), but I think that so much love and time has gone into this one that it really works.
  4. Shirley Scott Trio - For Members Only (Impulse!, 1963) My favourite of her Impulse! records.
  5. Paul Desmond - Easy Living (RCA, 1966)
  6. I think this one is very underrated.
  7. I see you're also hunting the Guilbeau.
  8. Thanks for that really great information. Is that the Andrew Hill?
  9. Joe Maneri - Dahabenzapple (HatOLOGY, 1997)
  10. Hank Crawford - The Soul Clinic (Atlantic, 1961) Who is the trumpet player on this record, Phillip Guilbeau? I've never heard of him before. He gets almost the whole of "What A Difference A Day Makes". Not even a Wikipedia page.
  11. That’s a really good description.
  12. Interesting looking one.
  13. I'd happily have more groove, or more rhythm. I quite like the keyboards (a mate saw Armon-Jones recently in a different setting and was raving about him). It just seems like it is a bit middle of the road. I'm happy she is getting exposure though. People obviously like her music.
  14. I'm still slightly unsold on Garcia. She seems to be a step back from other musicians on the scene at the moment.
  15. I don't know this one, but I like his playing on those Grant Green records. Would you recommend this?
  16. Spincare stylus brush and Onzow Zerodust between them sorted me out. Thank you to everyone who replied. Now to up my cleaning regime.
  17. Rachel Musson and Olie Brice - Tapering Arms Point Into The Wind I haven't enjoyed a free improv record this much in a while. Thanks to @mjazzg for the recommendation.
  18. The Jazz Composer's Orchestra - The Jazz Composer's Orchestra (JCOA, 1968) I'm not even a Larry Coryell fan normally, but I think that his solo on the second track is an under recognised avant guitar classic.
  19. Big fan of this one.
  20. Chick Corea Akoustic Band – Alive (GRP, 1991) Not a group that I ever really "got", but they have a huge following in some circles. Giving it a listen after a conversation with a friend's brother, a fusion head, who considers this record up there with the very greatest.
  21. I'm seeing some references to Pat Martino today that suggest that be may have sadly passed away. Very sad. I always enjoyed his playing.
  22. I really enjoyed it.
  23. Creative Improvisers Orchestra - The Sky Cries The Blues (CMIF, 1981) A Leo Smith record (I think) that I didn't previously know.
  24. This is one of my favourites.
