  1. I'm up to disk five now. Really enjoying the set!
  2. Yes. Quincy Jones was quite the jazz whiz kid in the fifties. Time to spin the Mosaic set again. And some of the Basie Roulette Studio set too.
  3. I'm enjoying disk 2. Love all the great stride piano! Very good sound, too. Excellent box set.
  4. I think a lot of these player software programs like itunes actually submit whatever you type in to Gracenote. So you may have finished the job for all of us! -Well, maybe not. Disc 7 still shows no data for me.
  5. Mine arrived today. As I was ripping the files to disk I remarked to myself how well the metadata on internet music databases had been entered. It was set up as a multi-disk collection of items by 'various artists' and each track contained the title of the performer or group (of which there are a great many). Beautifully done! And then it all ran out on disk 6. Oh dear. I typed in the metadata myself for disk 6 which is quite an undertaking because of the way Mosaic displays the data in two lists: a track list which has the song titles and a discography which is detailed about the performer/group for each track (but unfortunately the track order in the two lists is often not the same). Hmnnn...... maybe I'll listen to the first few disks, wait on 7-11, and hope whoever did 1-5 keeps it up...
  6. I've learned never to expect a Mosaic to arrive first over here in the Pacific Northwest. Probably early next week, according to the USPS.
  7. On the page with your orders, on this latest order there should be a line labeled Actions with a button labeled VIEW. Click it and that order comes up. Scroll down and under order updates you should see something like this: They don't label the tracking number as such. My apologies if you did all that and still no tracking number! If so I would write to info@mosaicrecords.com
  8. I used credit card and ordered the morning pre-orders were announced while Lon used PayPal and our orders shipped the same day so I guess there is no real difference in cc vs paypal.
  9. Yeah, same here. The notification got lost. Whatever - I have the tracking number.
  10. I got the first of these two albums - The Swinger/Mr. Swing, both from same session - on a Harry Edison Euro compilation. Decided to upgrade and get the second part. Verve has a legit release and Presto sells it as a download for $7. Swings along great with Freddie Green.
  11. I would agree with you if the compilation were entitled "Classic Early Recordings". The title was actually Classic Early Albums. So that still makes sense to me. Some material from the early 50's made it into the included Soulful Saxophone, a late 50's compilation.
  12. Not sure what you mean. His first albums as leader were around '55. Some great music in pretty decent sound on this compilation.
  13. I've had this on my Amazon wish list for a while. It came up today with a good discount: $10.16 total, so I plunked. I like Harry Edison. I also ordered this one recently and it arrived today. I noticed I had a Gene Ammons deficiency and picked it up when the price dropped to $13.12 (unfortunately went up again).
  14. The sales end of the operation is minimal. Their website ordering system is clunky, and sometimes the notices seem to go missing but I always get what I order. So I don't have any problem whatsoever.
  15. Be sure to check your spam folder. The response to my order ended up there even though I have had plenty of email from info@mosaicrecords.com
  16. Me too. I have the other 6 volumes and enjoy them. Mel Lewis!
  17. No but I've got some dentyne.
