TTK, I gave that one to my sister for Christmas many years ago, and she never mentioned it to me. I'll have to bring that up to her!

Well, I downloaded Opera. I clicked on the button to transfer my bookmarks, but it didn't happen as far as I can tell.

jlh, strictly speaking censorship occurs when it is the government which is acting. I gather that since the Terminiello decision places the burden on the police to ensure the safety, in the US the situation would indeed be considered censorship.

Thanks, guys. I quit using IE many years ago because I read that there are far more viruses for it than other browsers.

I've been using Firefox for a number of years, and I've found that I've been having a lot of problems the past few months with everything freezing up. I'm thinking about making a change. What do you think is currently the best-performing browser? Opera? Something else? Thanks!

Twenty years ago I visited a shop that sold Linn equipment. At one point the Linn rep who was in town gave me an A-B comparison. I could hear a difference, but I wasn't sure which of the two I preferred. -

The End Sure, but are we comparing a $100 CD player with a $100 turntable, or are we comparing a $1,000 CD player with a $1,000 turntable? -
My introduction to George Coleman was his marathon session with Chet Baker, and I still associate him with that first.

The Shield - Complete Series - $24.99 http://www.amazon.com/The-Shield-Complete-Collection/dp/B00DJYJRHG I've never seen this show. Is it good, or am I confusing it with another show called The Wire?

My first thought is that those old Miles recordings are from the pre-hi-fi days, right? I wonder the extent to which their sound can be improved. PS - I also note that the Amazon page says that the Herbie item is "Blue Note (Universal)." I'm confused. I thought that Universal sold all their EMI recordings except The Beatles and Robbie Williams to Warner.

I saw Stan Getz's quartet (with Dave Holland on bass) in Boston just a few weeks after the Montreux session. I enjoyed it!

Not too long ago there was an op/ed in the WSJ which I tore out to read later but haven't yet, about a concept called "the heckler's veto." The idea was much like this case. Here it is, from Dec. 29, behind a paywall. http://www.wsj.com/articles/barry-a-fisher-free-speechs-shrinking-circle-of-friends- There was a 1949 US Supreme Court case called Terminiello v. Chicago which said that the police have the duty to protect the speaker from the protesters.

I like Christmas music a lot, but this is too much for me. An Albany station Wednesday changed its format to year-round Christmas music! And you too can listen to it on the internet! http://www.syracuse.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/03/upstate_new_york_radio_station_now_plays_christmas_music_all_year_long.html http://santa1057.com/listen-live/
