From time to time I see something that looks interesting on the Jasmine label, which is based in London. Wikipedia says very little about them. Are their issues licensed or PD? Can anyone vouch for their sound quality?

Earl Morrall has passed away at age 79. I had his bubble gum card in 1960 when he was Detroit's backup quarterback. He was one of a number of QB's that the Steelers let go, including Johnny Unitas and Len Dawson. RIP. http://www.latimes.com/obituaries/la-me-earl-morrall-20140426,0,3626323.story#axzz2zyDJ3K00

Was Peter Leeds On Every Show, Ever?
GA Russell replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
The name rings a bell from the '50s radio shows, but I can't think of anything specific. PS - OK, now that I've taken the time to read your Wikipedia link, I know that I know him from Stan Freberg's radio show.- 3 replies

Here is a fun thing - a map from the Times showing where the baseball fans are located. I don't see any Mets or White Sox fans. And I am surprised that the territory of the Texas Rangers fans is so much greater than that of the Houston Astros. Apparently the grey space throughout the country represents Yankees fans. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/24/upshot/facebook-baseball-map.html?_r=0

Jeff Denson duos with Joshua White and Claudio Puntin
GA Russell replied to GA Russell's topic in New Releases
I have found a Jeff Denson album called Secret World up on Spotify, but these two are not up yet. I'll Fly Away is good. Joshua White on piano has all of the limelight, and he's talented. The album swings throughout. Two is a surprise. I would say that this is not jazz, but in the '70s would have been called "experimental music." I find it interesting, and not unpleasant, but I can't see myself playing it many times over the course of the next year. -

Thanks for all that work, MG! I find that nowadays ECM routinely releases a new issue twelve months after it was recorded. -
