  2. British Columbia Lions 53....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 17 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4627885 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=432894 The Bombers were just awful. A real comedy of errors. Buck Pierce came in to play a little bit for the Lions in the second half, and the Winnipeg crowd gave him a standing ovation, and cheered when he led them on a touchdown drive. The Lions clinched a playoff berth with the win.
  3. Game starts tonight at 12:30 am eastern. I'm going to use the links above from last year, starting with the one in post #66.
  4. The Jacksonville Jaguars are winless so far this year, so they are offering two free beers for each $45 ticket for this week's game. http://tampa.cbslocal.com/2013/09/26/jacksonville-jaguars-offer-fans-free-beer-to-buy-tickets/
  5. BlackBerry is in the news again, as they have put themselves up for sale and have one bidder so far. I suppose as a result, this article has resurfaced. I find the comments made in the past month regarding BlackBerry, iPhone and Android to be quite interesting, and maybe you will too. http://www.cio.com/article/731155/10_Things_BlackBerry_Z10_Does_That_iPhone_Can_t?taxonomyId=3081&CPID=KNC-kw1366381_p6&HBX_PK=rim|58df5538-2c69-8a89-e334-000026f5e7bb
  6. Great Western is a Saskatoon brewery. They have signed a deal with the league to become the official beer of the league (replacing Molson's), and to create a special beer for this year's Grey Cup. http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/great_western_brewing_joins_forces_with_cfl/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Western_Brewing_Company
  7. You will notice that this became available for downloading this past Tuesday, but will not be available as a CD and DVD until a week from this coming Tuesday. I don't recall seeing that sort of a rollout before. I played the CD yesterday. It's a fun disc. Musicianship is shown, but I wouldn't call this serious music. It's closer to a party record.

  19. A name from my youth has passed on. Paul Dietzel was LSU's football coach. When it was rumored that he would leave to take the Army job, he vehemently denied it. Then he did. The folks in Louisiana really hated his guts after that. One sports guy (Hap Glaudi) would list his name on the screen instead of Army's whenever they lost, which was often. Eventually he returned as LSU's athletic director. http://www.latimes.com/obituaries/la-me-passings-20130926,0,441419.story
  20. Hans, I was thinking that it is PD because it stops at 1962. I don't know when Bethlehem stopped recording, although Wikipedia says that it was sold to King Records in '62. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bethlehem_Records
  21. I disagree. It's a myth that you get the best people by offering the most money. One tenant of good business is never to hire someone who's just doing it for the money. Hey Joe, a little sleepy tonight? Shouldn't it be tenet?
  22. Another character from On the Road has passed away. Carolyn Cassady, the wife of Neal Cassady and who was portrayed as Camille, the second wife of Dean Moriarity in the novel, died Friday in England. RIP. http://www.latimes.com/obituaries/la-me-carolyn-cassady-20130925,0,4132307.story
