Ca. 1998 my nephew called me from San Diego, and asked me if I had ever heard of someone named Johnny Mandel. He had gone to a Diana Krall concert in Los Angeles; and Mandel sat down next to him, stuck out his hand and said, "Hi, I'm Johnny Mandel." I said to my nephew, "Tom, I would rather meet Johnny Mandel than Diana Krall."

Congratulate me! I was going through a box of unopened CDs this evening, and found both Indestructible! and Ugetsu. So I pulled them both out and put them aside. I'll open one of them within the next couple of days.

John, yesterday evening I watched a TSN video of a CFL game, the Argos game. I was going nuts with the instant replay after almost every play, and the annoying sound effect that TSN employs at the start and end of each replay. Actually, I watched the first half.
