The Als have cut Mark Restelli. You may recall that the Als signed the former Esk as a free agent a few months ago. No link yet.
-
Ricky Santos was cut by the Als last week, and joins the Argos today. Remember, Argos new coach Scott Milanovich coached for the Als the past few years. No link yet.

Calgary Stampeders 20....Edmonton Eskimos 17 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=398496 Canadian QB Brad Sinopoli led the Stamps to victory. Rob Maver kicked a field goal on the last play of the game to win it.

Dave, isn't a PS3 a lot more expensive than a Blu-Ray player? What else did you get it for?

You may want to bookmark this post. Here again is the link to the 2012 schedule. http://cfl.ca/schedu...012/time_zone/0 ***** I have verified that the radio broadcast partners of all eight teams will remain the same as last year. The radio broadcasts of all of the games are carried on the internet for free. Look for the "Listen Live" button on each site. You will need to first download (for free) Windows Media Player in order to listen. Here are the URLs of each website. Montreal Alouettes http://tunein.com/ra...JAD-800-s31204/ Toronto Argonauts http://www.tsn.ca/Toronto/ Hamilton Tiger-Cats http://www.900chml.com/ Winnipeg Blue Bombers http://player.cjob.com/ Saskatchewan Roughriders http://www.620ckrm.com/listenlive.php Calgary Stampeders http://tunein.com/radio/AM-770-s31172/ Edmonton Eskimos http://player.630ched.com/ British Columbia Lions http://tunein.com/ra...am-1410-s31148/ ***** All of the league's television broadcasts are carried on cable network TSN. I believe that TSN puts its broadcasts on their website live, but only for residents of Canada. Immediately upon the completion of the game, the broadcast is put onto its website for viewing by those outside Canada. Here is the link to TSN's library of games played: http://watch.tsn.ca/cfl-games-on-demand/#clip707716 ***** The TSN link wasn't working, so I have today June 23 replaced it with one that is.

The Bombers announced today that construction of their new stadium will not be completed this year, and that they will have to play the entire season at Canad Inns Stadium. This is not a big surprise to the skeptical. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/blue-bombers-forced-to-delay-stadium-move-until-2013-season/article4267269/ http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=398451

Winnipeg Blue Bombers 22....Montreal Alouettes 10 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=398419 Neither Calvillo nor Buck Pierce played.

British Columbia Lions 44....Saskatchewan Roughriders 10 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=398351 ***** The opponents of the proposed Ottawa stadium have given up the fight, so this means that construction will begin, setting the stage for Ottawa to return to the league. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=398370

And so the pre-season starts tonight. In the CFL, the pre-season games are for looking at the rookies, to see who will make the team. The veterans don't play very much. The league has four rookie head coaches this year (out of only eight teams!), and all four made their debut tonight. ***** Toronto Argonauts 29....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/argos-running-back-boyd-scores-2-tds-in-pre-season-win-over-ticats/article4258112/ http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=398337

Some indie jazz label folks circa 1978
GA Russell replied to Chuck Nessa's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Thanks a lot, jazztrain! I have or had Blue Groove (if that's the cd with Teddy Edwards), After Hours and Spicy, so maybe I am thinking about After Hours, a PJ date. -

Great! Thanks, Chuck. The name Bob Porter rings a bell to me, and I'm almost certain that he wrote the liner notes to a Groove Holmes Prestige album I got in high school, but I can't remember which one. Maybe Misty? -
The pre-season games start tomorrow night. Here is the year's schedule. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=508 PS - I see that that link is for the television broadcasts, which do not include all of the pre-season games. Here is a link for the entire schedule. http://cfl.ca/schedule/year/2012/time_zone/0 ***** Over the next two weeks I'll try to verify the radio stations and their URLs for each of the teams.

Character actor Frank Cady has died at 96. I remember him as Doc on Ozzie & Harriet, but I imagine that he is best remembered as storekeeper Sam Drucker on Green Acres and the Beverly Hillbillies. http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-passings-20120611,0,3629821.story
