Hi folks, Don't forget that today is a sad day because the great Art Pepper left us 30 years go. All of us like him and his music! He remains in our mind. RIP

Not at all but there is a high probability, because Ozzie wanted two things: 1° that involved musicians receive their share and to this end 2° that his tape collection is not scattered. I have no more information. -

I joked when I said "maybe". Now you may ask the Uptown Records staff to release it as soon as possible. -

Both september 28 & november 2, 1953 sessions are in my discography. Ozzie gave me the chance to hear many excerpts over the phone in april 1996. Nothing new except that the first session is now a reality. -
I already contacted Laurie about this new issue...

Hi folks, Take care, the following issue, forthcoming on next april 18 is a real joke! Art Pepper - Live in Milan 1981 The reference is Sinatra Society of Japan(Jap)XQAM-1618. By listening to the available excerpts on Internet, I found that at least three titles (The Trip ,Red Car & Blues for Heard) come from the Satin Doll in Kobe (March 9, 1978). To my knowledge, Art Pepper did never play in Milan in 1981. Warning, this is a new scam by the same producer as it is often the case concerning Art Pepper issues or reissues in Japan?

Recorded by the late Ozzie Cadena (September 28, 1953). He recorded another session at the same location on November 2, 1953 (with Hank Mobley & Howard McGhee). -
Hi, Nero software + Verbatim CD-R. The best solution!

JJ Johnson 1949 Prestige/New Jazz session
Claude Schlouch replied to romualdo's topic in Discography
Hi, Elysee & Hilo issued on Prestige(It)PRE-4001 and announced as alternate takes are in fact the above takes turning at inaccurate speed. Lord is wrong on this date! The 4 titles recorded on this date (may 26, 1949) are on Definitive Records(Sp)DRCD 11156, Prestige 7PCD-4407-2, OJC-091, OJCCD-091-2, (Jap)VICJ-2003, VICJ-40053-59. -
Hi James, Thanks for your post. I already have all material you mention, but the "I Want To Cry" from september 14, 1948 is still unissued. Drive DE2-41096 contains only the september 11, 1948 version of that tune. Thanks again! Welcome on the forum!

Yes, the Qwest material is included. Wonderful box set from Spain!

Scam Alert! The concert billed as Amsterdam, Holland, is actually the one given at Knebworth, England on July 25/26, 1981. The coordinator does not seem to know its geography ... or trying to take us for idiots. He knows evil fans of Art Pepper. Once again, he presents incomplete titles of average quality turning at incorrect speeds (?) without announcement or applause, in disorder, and cherry on the cake, it lacks a title (Everything Happens To Me). If you are concerned with this CD, please keep your money for something really worthwhile. Claude

Art Pepper The Complete Pepper at Ronnie Scott's
Claude Schlouch replied to brownie's topic in Re-issues
Hi folks, The word "complete at Ronnie Scott's" is ridiculous for a such issue or reissue for some titles. Art Pepper played every day at Ronnie Scott from june 16 to june 29, 1980. I have all titles in more or less good quality. I guess that the project of Laurie Pepper is to issue all of them on CD. I think that the 7LP box set includes only the last 2 nights (june 28 & 29, 1980). In that case, the word complete is correct. -
Dear King Ubu Thanks a lot for your very kind help! Claude
