  3. While I've never been a huge fan of jazz vocalists, the fact that Brownie is included makes these recordings worth considering.
  4. Strange that I've never come across this prior. Thoughts, comments?
  5. Hey Brian. Would be awful nice if you added to discussions here on the forum instead of just posting your stuff for sale. Just a thought.
  6. Never a fan, but I respected his talent. Way too young to go.

    Yes

I know I have posted on this before, but this is highly recommended. A performance from Wembley Arena 10/28/78. Why this hasn't been made available in it's entirety is puzzling to me. Yes is in top form here. Give a listen and judge for yourself.

    Yes

That's funny that I come across this thread after ordering earlier from Amazon "Going For the One" which features the track "Awaken" easily the standout track off this album. Rick Wakeman featured on church organ really adds something to the proceedings. He's also featured on church organ on "Parallels". I also purchased the Wakeman solo album "Criminal Record".
  9. A tough year for rockers. R.I.P. Greg.
  10. Any thoughts on this?
  11. Thanks Jim for your thoughts. I was thinking about the Howard McGhee "Dusty Blue" release. Sounds like I'm on firm footing on this.
  12. I recently started a thread on Savoy Records asking for peoples recommendations. It was a label I was sadly underweighted in. Thanks to all for the many great recommendations. I can now say, I have seriously bolstered that part of my collection. Now I'm asking for folks thoughts/favorites on the Bethlehem label. I own maybe 8 -10 titles at best but would like to add further. Your input as always is much appreciated.
  13. Since I presently don't own any of the Storyville releases, where would one recommend a good place to start?
  14. I just recently acquired some of his Savoy titles. IMO, they are superior to his Blue Note dates.
  15. Happy Birthday, BFrank!
  16. I will be holding off purchase of this set until I receive some feedback here on the forum. I don't imagine there will be anything negative to say. I plan on getting this set as a Christmas present to myself. Tip money from my customers on my mail route.

  18. I sort of remember a few folks here mentioning they were fans. A resident of my former hometown of Kingston, New York has passed. http://pitchfork.com/news/70047-pauline-oliveros-dead-at-84/
  19. Any pictures, Dave?
  20. Very sad. That sucks.
  21. Came across this on Facebook and Jazz Times website. http://jazztimes.com/articles/172684-mose-allison-dies-at-89
  22. Oh yes. Very aware of the upcoming Mosaic which is why I am restricting my potential purchases on Savoy to post 1950.
  23. I may have to get that. Very exciting stuff.
  24. I'm not certain how this all pans out? I recently picked up a decent number of Savoy releases and would love to add more to the collection. For some reason unexplainable, I have ignored this label. Makes no sense looking back at this now. PM me if there are some titles you might be willing to part with. Perhaps we can work out something. Thanks.
