  1. Sorry I missed this thread. Scott, I hope your birthday was a fine one.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oAVLTIHscY
  3. Bugs still cracks me up!
  4. I bought this many years ago when I first started listening to jazz. Agreed, Tommy was underrated.
  5. Tom, this is absolutely ridiculous what you're going through. I would suggest calling the local PO but I don't know whether that helps but I would call anyway. That said I also have an 800 number which may or may not help? Call: 1-800-ASK-USPS® (1-800-275-8777) Whomever you talk to I would make it clear your displeasure and I would site verbatim the tracking this package has taken so far and when the hell you're going to get it. Again, I feel for you brother. This is embarrassing for me as a US Postal employee. Clearly we need to do much better than this. Let me also add, if I wasn't on vacation right now I'd have made a print out of your dilemma and showed it to my Postmaster and asked him for his input.
  6. I'm not certain where this falls since it is not an official release and only a few tracks to this point have ever been on an official Yes release? That said, if mods feel this is an inappropriate topic on the forum and choose to delete I will understand. I came across this on You Tube last night and continue listening to this now and I'm absolutely amazed by the performance. The band is in top form. The recording is of excellent quality and the audience is very supportive. I guess I'm wondering who owns the rights to the recording and why the heck has this never been officially released by the band? As a longtime fan I would have no issue ponying up the money for this. If you're a fan of the band and have never heard this performance, here is the link and please post up your thoughts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiLU5Qa4298
  7. I did a search on Google for some sort of discussion on this set here and came up empty. Do you guys mind posting some thoughts on this collection?
  8. Friggin' embarrassing if you ask me and I work for the Postal Service. I love to hear the explanation from management for this.
  9. Happy Birthday once again, Evan.
  10. I wish I had caught this earlier. Looks like I missed out on some interesting recordings. If the Strozier is still available, I'm interested.
  11. Great collection. Any serious jazz lover would fine much to enjoy here.
  12. I've been listening to an Oscar Pettiford session which features Jimmy Hamilton on clarinet. Some very nice playing here. Of course he played many years with Duke. Recorded some sessions on his own. I was wondering what are some of your favorite recordings which feature Jimmy Hamilton? Look forward to reading your thoughts.
  13. Happy Birthday, Jeff! We need to connect on SKYPE soon!
  14. I'm also interested in the Dave Bailey release.
  15. I'd be interested in some of these releases. How is the Pike date which features Bill Evans?
  16. I was just listening to this yesterday which features 2 tracks from Ernestine.
  17. What's amazing to me is with his advanced age mid 80's as with "In My Time", the quality of the arrangements. Superb!
  18. I've been a fan of Gerald's music for quite some time owning the big box Mosaic. That said, I hadn't ventured into his later recordings till very recently when I purchased "In My Time". All I can say is wow! Anyone else here agree? Other thoughts on some of his other releases?
  19. Not certain what others think of this album, but I do enjoy this. A reunion album or sorts from '86 I believe? Insert Cozy Powell subtract Carl Palmer.
  20. Too many people whose music I grew up to have passed recently. I don't like this trend.
