  1. Count me in.
  2. Boy, those were the good old days. Thanks for the birthday wishes fellas. Going out to dinner later in Kennebunk to a restaurant new to me. Looks like a very nice place.
  3. Since I own only a few Savoy releases as of now, this would be of interest to me.
  4. Loving this thread! Keep 'em coming! While I have you felllas on the line, any thoughts on these 2 albums?
  5. I already own a few of the Curtis Fuller Blue Notes. Looks like I have to check out the Savoy's as well.
  6. It's probably a good thing you don't live nearby. I might find myself over at your house a lot! I've heard many good things on this one.
  7. I imagine this may have been discussed here at one time or another? If so, you can always provide me with a link so I don't further waste your time. That said, I've been recently picking up some Savoy titles here and there. Most notably some of the Milt Jackson's. I own a few other titles from this label. Charlie Parker and Hank Mobley come to mind. For the most part this is a most unexplored territory for me. I was wondering what are some of your favorite Savoy releases? What you think I should be looking for? I realize some of these titles may be tough to come by, but that's ok. Also, if you're looking to unload some of your Savoy titles, PLEASE send me a PM? I'm always open to negotiating deals with fellow board members. Thanks!
  8. I didn't realize they were back on the air till I turned on my internet radio, hit the preset button and out comes music or in this case the sound of drumbeats. Glad to have WKCR back online!!!
  9. Don't forget this one!
  10. I don't know if your wallet would support such a purchase? I thought I would through this out there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mosaic-MD5-151-The-Complete-Recordings-of-THAD-JONES-MEL-LEWIS-5-CD-JAZZ-LE-/381680666723?hash=item58ddf0c863:g:588AAOSwmtJXXv-5
  11. I don't believe there has been any discussion on this release. I could be wrong. I saw this in an area music store earlier today. Any thoughts? One review on Amazon complained of the sound quality.
  12. Sorry I missed this thread. Scott, I hope your birthday was a fine one.

  14. Bugs still cracks me up!
  15. I bought this many years ago when I first started listening to jazz. Agreed, Tommy was underrated.
  16. Tom, this is absolutely ridiculous what you're going through. I would suggest calling the local PO but I don't know whether that helps but I would call anyway. That said I also have an 800 number which may or may not help? Call: 1-800-ASK-USPSĀ® (1-800-275-8777) Whomever you talk to I would make it clear your displeasure and I would site verbatim the tracking this package has taken so far and when the hell you're going to get it. Again, I feel for you brother. This is embarrassing for me as a US Postal employee. Clearly we need to do much better than this. Let me also add, if I wasn't on vacation right now I'd have made a print out of your dilemma and showed it to my Postmaster and asked him for his input.
  17. I'm not certain where this falls since it is not an official release and only a few tracks to this point have ever been on an official Yes release? That said, if mods feel this is an inappropriate topic on the forum and choose to delete I will understand. I came across this on You Tube last night and continue listening to this now and I'm absolutely amazed by the performance. The band is in top form. The recording is of excellent quality and the audience is very supportive. I guess I'm wondering who owns the rights to the recording and why the heck has this never been officially released by the band? As a longtime fan I would have no issue ponying up the money for this. If you're a fan of the band and have never heard this performance, here is the link and please post up your thoughts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiLU5Qa4298
  18. I did a search on Google for some sort of discussion on this set here and came up empty. Do you guys mind posting some thoughts on this collection?
  19. Friggin' embarrassing if you ask me and I work for the Postal Service. I love to hear the explanation from management for this.
  20. I believe someone here had posted this on the forum at one time. Something worth watching once again. Features some jaw dropping guitar by Prince. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SFNW5F8K9Y
  21. Whether you enjoyed his music or not, there was no denying his talent. I huge loss for the music world. P.S. This is turning out to be a terrible year for music lovers and it's only April!
