  1. "Intentional pass"??? Why waste 3 pitches when you can achieve the same result by plunking him with one??* *see Drysdale, Don.
  2. Insurance does not provide a full refund. You get a partial refund after filing an intimidating claim form. You also have to provide evidence of the loss. Bottom line is that insurance is a pain in the rear and I feel it is only worthwhile for big purchases. Goods points. T.D. also makes a good point about the importance of paying via credit card. PayPal does not always pay fraud claims. I've never had a problem with MC/Visa.
  3. Hold off on the feedback for now. Tell the seller that if he doesn't send the cards post haste you will report him to Ebay's fraud department. Did you have the package insured??? Insurance costs just a few pennies more but it's usually the only way you can get your money back if your item is damaged/lost. Insurance also provides a tracking# at no extra cost.
  4. Oh I agree on all counts. They blew it right out of the gate. And then Garcia, Leiber, Gordon, and Myers went down. However, I just love watching Utley play. Best 2nd baseman in the game bar none. Oh well. Go Iggles!
  5. Broadcaster Costas not upset over Bonds' comments Associated Press Updated: July 26, 2007, 7:15 PM ET NEW YORK -- A day after Barry Bonds called him a "little midget man who knows (nothing) about baseball,'' broadcaster Bob Costas said he wasn't upset with the San Francisco Giants slugger and responded with a jab of his own. "As anyone can plainly see, I'm 5-6½ and a strapping 150, and unlike some people, I came by all of it naturally,'' Costas said Thursday in a telephone interview http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2950357
  6. Ouch. Man, I feel bad for the guy. He was putting up MVP numbers this season. 3rd in BA, 2nd in RBI, 2nd in R, 1st in 2B.
  7. Just read this tripe: "Until we have definitive proof one way or the other..." Um..huh? Then why all the hugga-mugga in the media then? "I know Bonds is probably 100% pharmaceutical Frankenstein" Probably 100%...WTF is that? This is total bullshit, guys. Nobody has ever been subjected to this kind of gossip-turned-fact nonsense in the history of sport. Thank God our legal system needs proof to convict anyone. Wow. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
  8. Oh shit. Phillies second baseman Chase Utley broke his right hand when he was hit by a pitch from Washington Nationals pitcher John Lannon in the fifth inning today. Phillies assistant general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said he expects Utley back before the end of the season, but there was no immediate prognosis. Utley broke the fourth metatarsal bone.
  9. Let's rewind Barry's career to the 7 years he spent as a wasp-waisted Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder so sleek and fleet Jim Leyland used him to lead off. Barry actually spoke to me once in those days, at the batting cage before an NLCS game against the Braves. He said, "This morning I watched you and those other bleeps on that bleep TV show you bleeps do on ESPN. You bleepers don't know bleep . . . '' With that, he jumped into the cage for his final hacks. I felt flattered. Barry does not initiate conversation with just anybody. He assigns his bleeps with care. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/philli...wn_to_size.html
  10. I can't stand A-Rod, but the day he erases Bonds from the record book will be an excellent day for me. Selig will erase it first. A-Rod is a great player and will probably be the first to hit 800 dingers. That said the first image that pops into my mind when I read/hear his name mentioned is this:
  11. Thank God for Ryan Howard!
  12. So I'm looking over tonight's Phils/Nationals' box score and I see a familiar name... Umpires: Home - Sam Holbrook, First Base - Hunter Wendelstedt, Second Base - Randy Marsh, Third Base - Bob Davidson So he's a great drummer and a professional umpire. Who knew?
  13. Schilling on Bonds & McGwire http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2949168
  14. Wasn't it re-released on Arista back in the mid 70's?? I think my vinyl copy is a re-release.
  15. Hey isn't it about time for Organissimo to play Philly??? 3 shows in August that look promising are Bobby Zankel Thursday 8/2 at Tritone NEGATIVLAND - It's All In Your Head FM @ International House Friday 8/3 and... AN EVENING WITH THE JENNY SCHEINMAN QUARTET with JENNY SCHEINMAN, violin NELS CLINE, el. guitar TODD SICKAFOOSE, double-bass JIM BLACK, drums @ the IH Tuesday 8/7
  16. So this morning my son, who just turned 3, is running around naked. Finally he lays down on the floor and starts to play with his "twig and berries". My wife said to him,"Jackie, what are doing?" and he replied,"Mama, I'm ringing my bell".
  17. For the past few days I've been working,"Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket" into all of my conversations.
  18. You jinxed him. Phils beat him 9-0 today. He is 0-4 in his last five starts with an ERA of 4.06. Chris Young is looking like the best chance of getting the Cy for the Padres. Though if Penny keeps winning that's a moot point.
  19. You could always suggest to your neighbor to hire someone to do it at a reasonable hour.... http://www.11alive.com/news/article_news.a...mp;provider=top
  20. Really? I've never heard anybody suggest this. Guy Over recorded???? You've got to be kidding me. I would love a box set of the complete live recordings of the '64 Europe tour.
  21. how about the winner gets one of these???
  22. Gotta be the fucking moon clip... Yup, that's the same fucking moon clip. Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket that is one fucking funny clip. Can you fucking believe that happened 38 fucking years ago today?? Holy mother of fuck.
  23. Would it cost any money to join??
