  1. MAN OH MAN OH MAN! Not sure if it was the better team that won or the one w/ the least shittest bullpen.
  2. New 3 CD release/reissue on Tompkins Square out on Oct.27. Check out two of these mp3's. They blew me away..... “Fire In My Bones” preview No. 1 of 3: “How Long” by Sister Ola Mae Terrell (1948) http://www.arthurmag.com/2009/10/05/fire-i...eview-no-1-of-3 “Fire In My Bones” preview No. 2 of 3: “Don’t Let Him Ride” by the Mississippi Nightingales (1971) http://www.arthurmag.com/2009/10/07/fire-i...es-preview-no-2 Thanks to Arthur Magazine for hip'n me to this
  3. I'm not gonna make it to the end of this game.
  4. FYI..... http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...y+Simmons\
  5. Just A Guy Who Knows is a new 21-minute short film that was directed, shot, and edited by Mike Ercolini and Dan Scofield. Dan is one-fourth of the Philadelphia quartet Shot x Shot. http://www.justaguywhoknows.com/
  6. I know it's still early and that a team's/player's fortunes fall/rise weekly but it sure does look like Denver made out better than Chicago did on the Kyle Orton/Jay Cutler trade.
  7. After seeing another angle of the play at first on the local TV coverage I have to say that the 1st base ump got that call right. Helton left the bag early to avoid getting steamrolled by Utley. However, that still doesn't make up for the blown call by the home plate ump that started the play.
  8. The Browns score touchdowns about as often I score w/ my wife. Which ain't a lot, let me tell ya.
  9. The umping in this years post season has been gawd awful to say the least. Last night's, or in the East this morning's(thanks Bud), 9th inning blunder may have been the worst yet. Utley fouled a pitch off of his leg which replays showed hit his leg and then he was called safe at first when the ball clearly beat him, though Helton's leg may have come off the bag a little early. I would be super pissed if I were a Rockies fan. MLB has to do two things. 1. Expand instant replay. These games are too important to have a blown call being a deciding factor. 2. Stop the rotating ump shit. Let only the best umps work the post-season. What are Chuck Merriweather, Cowboy Joe West, et al. doing in the playoffs??
  10. Not that it matters since I think the Dodgers will go all the way.
  11. Phils just announced that Happ will be the Game 3 starter bumping Pedro. I think this is for the best. Hopefully his leg is okay and he can shutdown the Rockies.
  12. Game's been postponed. Who knows when they'll be able to play it. Can you imagine what it's going to be like if the Rockies actually make the World Series, or even advance in the playoffs? MLB did the right thing for once. I guess after later year's WS Game 5 debacle they have learned their lesson.
  13. No seriously that would have been weird to have two playoffs games w/ blown 9th inning saves back to back. Alas. I'm hoping MLB postpones the WFC/Rockies game tomorrow BEFORE the game. from ESPN.... Players wore extra layers and stocking caps to work out Friday, when the temperatures were still in the 50s ahead of an overnight cold front that will bring sleet, snow and plummeting temperatures. "It's definitely not going to be a July day by any means," said Eric Thaler, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. "Bundle up like you're going to a Broncos game." Thaler said it would be 29 degrees at first pitch at 7:37 p.m. MDT, and that the record cold temperature for Oct. 10 (25 degrees set back in 1905) could fall by game's end. He didn't expect much precipitation, which should encourage Major League Baseball not to postpone the game. And we've got a dinged up 38 year old pitcher from the DR on the mound. He's gonna turn into an icicle out there. Not liking the Phillies chances right now.
  14. How crazy would it be if Lowell hits a homer and ties the game? Dang.
  15. How many times are the Twinkies going to blow this game?
  16. Bases loaded and no outs.
  17. Yeah, winning run 90 feet away w/ one out, I thought the Twinkies were done.
  18. They need to get him out of there. Actually I was kinda surprised they brought back after he blew it in the 9th. That sounds like something Cholly might do w/ Lidge
  19. Wow. A rare clutch hit TWO clutch hits in the same post-season game from ARod. Who would've thunk it possible?
  20. Welcome Caleb Michael Hamels. 6.9 lbs, 21 inches and blonde hair.
  21. Thanks for posting that.
  22. I have the live album he did w/ Hemphill on Red Records which is really good. R.I.P. Edit: It's available on CD http://www.dustygroove.com/item.php?id=75phdrjzxz
  23. Oh and when will the Phillies "brain trust" accept the fact that Hamels doesn't like to pitch day games. He gave an lengthy interview this week about his distaste for pitching day games. He's now 10-13 with a 4.66 ERA in 37 career day starts. I realize there will be times when he has to pitch a day game because of the schedule but they could have easily started Happ yesterday. Not to mention Hamels' wife is a week past her due date w/ their first child.
  24. Oh cry me a river.
  25. CLIFF LEE!!!
