  11. Thanks for the info - I never even thought to look on ifilm. Man, they really nailed the tiger/Tigger, Dennis Hopper/Piglet stuff. That was cool.
  12. Philip Glass: Einstein on the Beach. It's only two CDs worth of material, but it feels like 14 hours.
  13. Would love to see this Pooh: Apocalypse Pooh (1987) A review from IMDB.com: An obscure but brilliant match-up of Winnie the Pooh cartoons and dialogue from "Apocalypse Now." The Pooh characters and Coppola's characters make some surprisingly well-suited pairs, such as a frantic Piglet mouthing Dennis Hopper's rants, or the casting of Rabbit as the machinist who is "wound too tight for the jungle." The filmmakers even reversed the technique for the Col. Kurtz character, combining footage of Brando with dialogue from Eeyore. And then there's that great closing line: "Oh bother...oh bother..." The tape I saw also featured two similar combinations of wholesome animation and twisted cinema: "Blue Peanuts," with the Charles Schulz characters mouthing dialogue from "Blue Velvet" (Snoopy as Dennis Hopper...incredible!), and a "music video" of the Archies performing The Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen."
  14. Connie Francis: Where The Boys Are The Beatles: Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey
  15. South Park, Seasons 2 & 3 And from the Fox-Canceled-Shows list: Wonderfalls The Tick Firefly and should they ever release it, Andy Richter Controls the Universe

  17. Since the study was done in Japan, they were probably listening to that excreable J-Pop... Meanwhile, the dairy industry introduces the newest innovation - the cowPod:
  18. I predict a bright future for this guy - I'm sure he'll make a substantial number of worthy contributions to society. At least, I'm assuming it's a guy...
  19. One of my favorite composers. Loved his symphonies (on Delos, conducted by Gerard Schwartz) and his four-volume set of string quartets (on Albany, performed by the Potomac String Quartet). He was the last of the great American symphonists.
  20. Very true.
  21. Next celebrity to walk: Phil Spector, aka The Lion King.
  22. Thank God it's over. Now this country can get back to focusing on what's really important: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
  23. It was that Jay Leno testimony that swayed the jury. That, and Kevin Eubanks laughing it up behind him.
  24. Rats. I wonder how many newspapers are resetting their headline type right now?
