  8. I've been enjoying that album for 25 years, along with Vol 2. Lovely stuff,I'll dust out Vol 2 for tomorrow so I can dig Boots Brown and his Blockbusters again.
  9. Allow two days for a pleasant drive to get to Williams or Flagstaff (for the Grand Canyon). You can go via Las Vegas and the Hoover dam. Flagstaff is a great base as there is so much to see in the vicinity. It will probably be snowy there but the canyon looks great in the snow. If you can find the time southern Utah has a lot to offer.
  10. Shorty Rogers and His Giants Vol 1. RCA Jazzline (France)
  11. Belated birthday greetings John. Trust it was a good one.
  12. 32/38. Basically timed out because of fumbled typing. Another minute and I would have had four more. I probably wouldn't have recalled Ron Carter though I did have Third Plane for a while, and chose the wrong Brecker. Fun though.
  13. Thanks for posting Mark. Nice photo, would be great to hear the musical result of this meeting.
  14. Paul Bley Trio; Complete Savoy Sessions 1962-63. Nice to get these all togther. The Savoy vinyl reissues were a bit haphazard.
  15. A non-jazz friend called the other day while Hank Mobley was on. He said "is that Charlie Parker?" I thought that was pretty good, I'd have never guessed he'd ever heard of Bird.
