Wonderful record, one of those that changed my listening habits. Still have my copy.

It's shame they've gone but frankly I can't say I miss them that much. The excitement of discovery has now gone for me, presumably it's an age thing.

Used CdJapan on one occasion. Excellent speedy service. Recommended and would use again

It's fine little set. Well worth having. Loads of reissues, bootlegs, downloads. The Everest album couples the Rollin with some pleasant Thad Jones tracks.

I have the Horizons too. I can't say I've played them recently. I'm not sure they hold a great deal of interest for me. I sold the Strata East a while back - how many Sonny Fortune's from this time do I really need! But yes, those Horizon's were beautifully packaged.

The answer is YES. I discovered jazz in the 50s and the things I really liked then still sound great today. That's not to say I liked everything I heard back then, I didn't, the voyage of discovery took me from trad to big bands before I heard a couple of Prestige albums, then there was no looking back.

Thanks Brownie, seems just the same as mine, (orange picture of Lowe), except for the 'Made in Poland' just beneath the ESP DISK address.

I've had this record for many years but I've just spotted that it has the imprint 'Made in Poland' on the label. Jacket is printed in the US. What's going on here? Is this a later pressing? Were other ESP discs pressed in Poland? Seems a bit strange to me.

You never see any British Jazz LPs of that ilk in charity shops! Looks like something I'd like to hear - sidewinder, did you win? No - didn't bid, have never heard it ! Not something I would want to take a blind punt on, at that price.. Coming to this one a bit late - I was a regular at the Green Man and saw the Bird Curtis Band several times. Not bad as I recall but a band that would make me go out on a cold night.

My first was in 1958 but I only have a record off about 50 or so from the seventies. Most things have slipped from my mind except the handful of unforgetable spine tinglers.

Remember when they were on sale at giveaway prices. Is that 6/11 I read on that one? Looks like it Bill, mine cost ten bob.

Another Egmont pressing. Quite an attractive, lively session.

Fine stuff. I saw this band at Ronnie Scott's with Ralph Penland on drums. An incredible and unforgetable evening. (On reflection my memory is probably at fault here, the drummer was probably Carvin)

Still digging out my old Charlie Parker records vinyl. This one is on the UK budget Egmont label. Great value for money.

I'm a fan of Dara the trumpeter too. I cooled off rapidly when I read the list of credits on his Atlantic cd.
