  1. The Amazon reviews disagree about the sound quality. My discography (Lohmann) lists the Filmore and Melbourne concerts as, respectively, unissued Columbia and Warners recordings. Wolfgangs's Vault has the Filmore.
  2. Happy Birthday Clifford.
  3. Thank you Adblock plus for Chrome.
  4. Happy Birthday Nate. Haven't noticed you around too much lately.
  5. Happy Birthday Marty. If I remember you are in Florida. Hope you're enjoying some fine winter weather - rain and gales in the UK
  6. Over the last few months I'd guess Miles, Brubeck, Bud Shank, David Murray, Ahmad Jamal, Clifford Brown.
  7. Didn't spot this Bev, thanks for the link.
  8. Sad news, a real original. Did get to see him a few years ago.
  9. I don't know that much about the latest computer specs but an upgraded sound card might be needed if you need to make digital copies of vinyl etc.
  10. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone here at organissimo
  11. Miles Davis; Cellar Door Sessions. disc 1.
  12. No, love the instrument. So many great solos and soloists from Tricky Sam through to Ray Anderson. The trombone live makes an incredible sound, so many overtones that are not captured on record. Over the years I've sat very close to several masters and these experiences rate are among my most treasured jazz memories.
  13. I'm not very big on vocalists, male or female. The only one represented in my collection by more than a handful of tracks or one cd is Helen Merrill.
  14. Terrible news. One of the masters.
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. Get well soon.
  18. Thanks aloc. I'm a bit of a US railfan. I always enjoy your railroad pix so keep them coming. edited for typo
  19. I don't know, are they boots? Are these French Radio/Europe 1 releases bootlegs.
  20. I saw the '65 trio in London. It certainly wasn't what I expected. They shared the bill with Art Blakey, the band with Lee Morgan and John Gilmore. Quite a conrast.
  21. It's great that the BBC records and broadcasts so many gigs like this. Catch it while you can. Yet another one to chalk up to streaming technology? Very nice set. Well worth a listen. I didn't expect it to be so enjoyable.
  22. Pacific Jazz Piano Trios. Mosaic Select. Disc 3 (Clare Fischer)
  23. what a great cover. Bet the music's pretty hot too Yes, nice album. Plenty of heavyweight bari from Tyler. Sounds a tad messy at times especially with two basses and a cello.
