  1. That's really cool! I hope it's a true story. Now if they could just get back together with Syd Barrett for an out of this world version of Astronome Domine or Intersteller Overdrive....
  2. man, that was really bad. I know. I really have no shame.
  3. Lon, I see we posted at the same time. I guess you already answered my question. Drats! I can't afford to rebuy this stuff.
  4. I have the old Columbia Jazz Masterpieces individual volumes. Are the remasters a night and day improvement over these, or am I really missing out by not upgrading?
  5. That's 5,000 posts in 11 days! We really are are nuts!!!
  6. Speaking of being abused, here is some levity from our friends at Monty Python's Flying Circus: FRENCH GUARD: Allo, dappy English k-niggets and Monsieur Arthur King, who has the brain of a duck, you know. So, we French fellows outwit you a second time! ARTHUR: How dare you profane this place with your presence! I command you, in the name of the Knights of Camelot, to open the doors of this sacred castle, to which God Himself has guided us! FRENCH GUARD: How you English say, 'I one more time, mac, unclog my nose in your direction', sons of a window-dresser! So, you think you could out-clever us French folk with your silly knees-bent running about advancing behavior?! I wave my private parts at your aunties, you cheesy lot of second hand electric donkey-bottom biters. ARTHUR: In the name of the Lord, we demand entrance to this sacred castle! FRENCH GUARD: No chance, English bed-wetting types. I burst my pimples at you and call your door-opening request a silly thing, you tiny-brained wipers of other people's bottoms! ARTHUR: If you do not open this door, we shall take this castle by force! [splat] In the name of God and the glory of our-- [splat] FRENCH GUARDS: [laughing] ARTHUR: Agh. Right! That settles it! FRENCH GUARD: Yes, depart a lot at this time and cut the approaching any more, or we fire arrows at the tops of your heads and make castanets out of your testicles already! Ha ha haaa ha! ARTHUR: Walk away. Just ignore them. FRENCH GUARD: And now, remain gone, illegitimate-faced bugger-folk! And, if you think you got a nasty taunting this time, you ain't heard nothing yet, dappy English k-nnniggets! Thpppt!

  8. I don't know how others feel about this set, but I really like her on the 2 CD Complete Decca Recordings set. That set is what made me a fan. I love her version of "Good Morning Heartache" on that set.
  9. I am, I have a bunch of ideas already, but I'm waiting to see what the Organissimo guys want before I start making anything. I am here to serve.
  10. Nice suggestion, Bev! Personally, I'd like to hear a version of Nick Drake's "River Man" Also, if you're still taking suggestions: How about a version of Jitterbug Waltz based off the Eric Dolphy version from 1963. That would be cool. B)
  11. Maybe famed record producer Bruce Dickenson was wrong. After listening to some of the samples on that link, I think I have a fever and the only prescription for me is less cowbell.
  12. Man, that's the truth!
  13. I guess this is their second batch of releases. I heard the first batch didn't sell too well.
  14. i chill out in the frozen food section of the grocery store. Wow! I would think dog would be a little ruff. Gobbler the turkey thinks cat is the purr-fect choice.
  15. Conn, You are the poll-meister!! This is going to be really cool!
  16. A public service announcement:
  17. When my two year old was in his first year, we used to listen to a lot of jazz (we still do). He loved it! Some of his favorites were: Flip Phillips - Best of the Verve Years Lee Konitz - Motion Johnny Hodges He really seemed to like stuff of the small group variety. If there was too much going on, he didn't get into it. He also really likes organ jazz. He loves Lou Donaldson's early sixties stuff, like the Natural Soul. And... he digs classical too, not symphonies, but string quartets. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Haydn and Handel for him.
