  1. I guess the way I read the initial post was that it was posted to mock these people for being so conservative in their values. All I'm saying is that progress isn't always a great thing. Yes, I agree it's silly that they haven't allowed dancing until now. I guess I wish the world was a little bit simpler and not so jaded.
  2. I think that story is nice. I guess the students there aren't as lucky as the rest of us in the real world. Heck, maybe in fifty years, the students will be having babies in the bathroom of the dance and abandoning them. These poor fools don't know what they're missing out on.
  3. Plus, I'll pay the shipping to anywhere in the world.
  4. You know she's probably drinking a Diet beverage.
  5. Now, I just have to figure out how to put little Star Trek shirts on those cats.... ... should I make the other cat a red Star Trek shirt? I want to make sure that 'ol James T. wins the girl, and we all know what happens to the guys in the red shirts on Star Trek.
  6. I'll sell my Blakey set for only $400. but, there are a couple things missing. No box No discs No jewel cases No book No booklets or tray cards but, other than that, it's mint.
  7. Wow! You gotta get this one Evan! I think I've found the perfect Image for the date between your avatar and James T. Cat.
  8. Ah, the Burger Queen! Maybe she's part of the royal court? or... Maybe she IS the royal court? or worse... Maybe she ATE the royal court?
  9. Oh, I thought you were a VETerinarian. James T. Cat isn't feeling too well. Too much whip cream (and other delights).
  10. I wonder what our friends overseas are thinking.... "Is she American royalty?" "She's Henry the ate"
  11. I like my women with built in cupholders!
  12. Conn, I think you've coined a new term. "A pile of Wynton" = When something that seems too good to be true, turns out to be too good to be true. It turns out to be a pile of Wynton. Usage example: Question: Did you hear the new Blue Note compilation? It's supposed to have new tracks by original BN artists such as Andrew Hill, Jimmy Smith, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, etc... Answer I heard it, but it turned out to be a pile of Wynton. It only contained tracks by Ronny Jordan and George Howard.
  13. With my luck, if I bought that collection, it would turn out to be: 200,000 copies of the DVD of the movie "Cabin Boy" starring Chris Elliott. 400,000 Wynton Marsalis CDs. 100,000 LP copies of Don Johnson's "Heartbeat" album from '85.
  14. That's great news! I'll buy one too! BTW - If you need any artwork, I'd be happy to volunteer to do it for you.
  15. Cool! Maybe this should be in the "Hello Kitty" thread.
  16. Yep, sorry, but it IS that much better, at least to my ears. Heck, start selling those BN cover animations and you'll easily have enough to afford all the CDs you want! Thanks Tony. I really love this album. I told myself that I was going to stop buying remasters of CDs I already had, but now I guess I'll have to make an exception. Fortunately, this Conn is on sale at my local Tower. Unfortunately, I spent my cd money yesterday. I guess I'll be skipping lunch for the next couple days.
  17. Eric, You're welcome! and.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  18. Eric, Here's your avatar.
  19. Congratulations! I'll have to make sure I pick up a copy of that issue.
  20. I've realized that as a reviewer, I don't even know what I'm doing. I dig all those LD soul jazz dates. I figure if it was good enough for him, then it's fine for me. I'm finding it's getting harder for me to be critical. I've been trying to listen to music with a very open mind and I'm finding that I am enjoying all kinds of things that I would have put down in the past. I guess I gots no taste!
  21. Ah, you caught me! Actually, around ten years ago, I regularily would have a beer for breakfast. Ouch!
  22. EKE BBB, I hope it's a good set. I know I've been happy with my Proper boxes that I've purchased so far. When you get your set, please post a review of it. The price is amazing for that much music.
  23. Welcome to the board, Spontooneous! I guess jazz and alcohol have an association since the music is performed in clubs where alcohol is served. ....but using Miles to sell the booze is a little crass to me. This reminds me of some cd covers I made when BN did their "Art of Indulgence" tie-in CD.
  24. Great choice!!!! I'll be joining in on the fun. Tony, you're killing me! I have the TOCJ and the River's Mosaic set. Is the Conn sound that much better? If it is, you know I'll have to buy it AGAIN!! John, great avatar! I just sent you the files with 'ol James T. Cat.
