  1. John, That sandwich is 'da bomb! I like how the guy pauses to look at it. Great work!
  2. Isn't this the same set that has been available on the History label for a while?
  3. Good advice!
  4. Red Garland - Soul Junction Bill Evans - Sunday at the Village Vanguard Art Pepper - Meets the Rhythm Section, + Eleven, Thursday Night at the Village Vanguard I better stop, I could go on and on and on....
  5. I wouldn't even know where to start. Here's some of my OJC faves. Wes Montgomery - Full House Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners, Monk's Music Miles Davis - Cookin', Relaxin', Workin', and Steamin' The Quintet - Jazz at Massey Hall Cannonball Adderley - Live In San Francisco Shelly Manne - Live at the Blackhawk (all the volumes are good IMO) There's a zillion more, but these are some of my favorites.
  6. Eric, I'd be happy to do some work on your avatar for you! I'm busy today, but try to think of what you'd like to see, send me a PM, and I'll make it for you tomorrow. :rsmile:
  7. Usually there is a disclaimer in the bar code area. The bar code itself is shortened and underneath it, there is text that states that it's MFD for BMG Direct and then gives an address for BMG. It used to bug me, but I just can't afford to pay retail price, so I live with it. The CDs sound fine to me. Once in a while, you DO get retail versions. Lately, I've had good luck with the Verve facsimile editions (the little LP shaped ones).
  8. Happy Birthday!!!!!
  9. THANKS!!!!
  10. Happy Birthday, Conn!!!! I hope you have the BEST birthday possible!!
  11. Here's the larger version for 'ya!
  12. Anyone looking for some Sonny Clark?
  13. This probably isn't what you were hoping for.
  14. I'm really glad you like it, Dave! Evan, We'll have to create an avatar in which James T. Cat and your avatar go on a date or something.
  15. Thanks Wes! Hey, you need an avatar too.... (hint hint)
  16. Here's your avatar, Dave. I call it "James T. Cat (or Cat Shatner) Runs the Voodoo Down"
  17. I do that with my mp3 cd player. I prefer to use the line out jack (with a 1/8" connection). I got a cable at Radio Shack that goes from 1/8 to (2) RCA jacks. I think you could do the same with the headphones jack if it doesn't have a line out.
  18. Cool! I could be happy with a 10gb version. Does it take long to transfer files to the IPod, or is done quickly?
  19. I wonder how pissed off when the add the word McFat to the dictionary. McFat: The state of being obese that is brought on by excessive intake of fast food. McCoronary: A heart attack brought on by excessive fast food intake. SuperSize: 1) A larger fast food meal 2) What happens to a person after too many large fast food meals.
  20. I'm with you, Chris! I like the spoof that one of the comedy shows did. On the spoof version, all the colors were various shades of grey. It was completely unintelligible.
  21. Welcome to the board, bluesforbartok! I don't have an IPod, but I've been lusting after one for a while. My current setup is a cd player that plays mp3 discs. I've done the same thing and ripped my Mosaic sets to mp3. When the prices come down a little more, I'll be joining the IPod contingent. I heard that Dell has released their own mp3 player. Does anyone here know about that one?
  22. John, Those are fabulous covers! I even like your Thad Jones better than mine. I did the same thing and worked too hard on it. It lost a lot when made into avatar size. I know this isn't your profession, but if you came to me for a job, I'd hire you. Great work!
  23. Welcome to the board, street singer! I hope you will find some motivation to join us in the fun and start posting (it can be very addictive ) Thanks for the tip!
