  1. Since we're talking about BEAVER, is there any room in the thread for COOTER?
  2. Big Al, Here's the avatar you requested. Hope you like it!
  3. Thanks Jim! BTW - He does like Johnny Cash! I'm making sure of that.
  4. That's great, vajerzy! Your daughter is going to go nuts! If the Wiggles perform near me, I know I have to take my son to see them. He'd have a ball. I'm glad to hear that you're playing the Grateful Dead for your daughter! I do the same thing, but only when my wife is out of the house. I figure it's best to get them on the bus as early as possible. I also feel that I need to reverse the damage my wife is doing to my son's musical tasts. I figure he'll get the contemporary hits of today from her, and the obscure stuff from me. Hopefully, he'll be very well rounded. I'm also trying to get him to be interested enough in music to want to be a musician. Here's a picture from last weekend of him playing his guitar and singing:
  5. What bums me out about the Beatles' catalog is that the packaging stinks. Even their newer compilations (except Anthology and BBC) are pretty uninspired from a packaging point of view. Some of my favorite reissues have been the ones they did for the Byrds' catalog. They had good remastering, bonus tracks, and nice booklets. Even the Capitol twofers for the Beach Boys are nice. Just my 2 cents... B)
  6. Ah.... there's no resemblence at all.
  7. You never know, 7/4, stranger things have happened. What's the sentence? 3 to 8 years? He's still young.... aaaarrrrgh!
  8. I didn't realize the Basie Reunion album was available. Thanks! I would love a Jacquet Clef select!
  9. I could never replace the cat.
  10. Man, that's really strange..... It's creeping me out too. The only way I can look at it is if I picture it as him escaping from prison through the plumbing. Then it becomes kind of funny to me.
  11. 7/4, you said it. YIKES!!! He looks like such a nice lady.... I wonder who is going to use that for their avatar first?
  12. I don't know, that would be really creepy.... but.... it would be funny! I worried I'm gonna have nightmares, don't do it! I had to do it.... I hope you like it, Wes!
  13. I don't know, that would be really creepy.... but.... it would be funny!
  14. Thanks for noticing, Wes!
  15. Here's Chris Olivarez' avatar:
  16. That's really cool, 7/4! No wonder we play guitar.... You got better people to share your birthday. Other than Jimmy Page, I'm stuck with Tricky Dick Nixon.
  17. As a sideline: I believe this is the first time a pic is used by two different board members in succession - this was my next-to-last ava... - ehm couwatar. If we're running out of avatars, this one is still free:
  18. If we're indulging in some bad taste: What's the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag? One is white, made of plastic, and is hazardous to children. The other carries groceries.
  19. One album I really love is Ben Webster and Illinois Jacquet's THE KID AND THE BRUTE. I think that's one of my top three Verve Elites.
  20. I've got all the titles, King Ubu mentioned, but the one that I listen to the most is the OJC, For Basie. I originally heard it on a Prestige Twofer LP called (I believe) Basie Reunion, or something like that.
  21. And my birthday! I should get a Michael Jackson behind bars cake.
  22. I laughed so hard that I shnarfed!
  23. Ubu, I dig both of the Quinichette OJC's!
  24. Good thing he didn't run! After the O.J. Bronco "chase", I don't know if we could have taken it. Here's an image, I found on a guitar bulletin board, of MJ making a run for it.
