I pulled out the Ellington Suite with Eric Dolphy reissue the other day. I really enjoyed hearing it again. I have the Hamilton Mosaic, but I've found that I've always listened to it in small doses.

I'm in agreement. I think Brighten the Corners is quite good. Some of the guitar on it reminds me of Syd Barrett (and that is ALWAYS a good thing).

I DIG that album. It's called Pig Lib. There's also a documentary on Pavement called Slow Century. I think it's worth picking up.

This is so sad. The Organissimo forum has really become an extended family for me. My sincere condolences to Ken's family and friends.

Hey - I was just going to say that. As someone who ran out of anything valuable to say a LONG time ago... I urge you (all) to join in the fun. We'd love to get to know you.

I don't have an IPod so I tunes is out for me. I've got a 40gb Nomad Jukebox. I figured I'd play it safe with the burner. I've burned them out before ripping cds, and my laptop has a built in DVD burner, so I don't want to use that and burn it out. As for archiving everything, I figure since I've spent (and am going to spend) so much time, I might as well back it up.

I'm in the process of ripping my entire cd collection to mp3 (for use on my portable mp3 player). I'm using a laptop with an external cd rom drive (so I don't burn out my internal one) and I've got a 300mb external hard drive for my mp3s. I'm also going to burn DVD backups of everything. So far, I've got about 700 albums ripped. It's so nice having all this music at my fingertips.

I don't know, I can hang with Peter (the father on Family Guy). The episode where they're in the witness protection program and he paints the station wagon like the General Lee makes him okay in my book. But... The Adventures of Stewie would be great.

Same here. I've been ripping my cd collection to mp3 and here's one that's got me. 3 in Jazz (RCA) I usually just keep this after Z on the shelves, but since I'm creating mp3s, I've had to go through the tracks for each artist and create separate ep's for them.
