  1. Now is the time to sell some BN cds... before this list gets out everywhere.
  2. I've been enjoying the Bud Shank set this morning. I love having my hard drive full of high-bitrate Mosaic set mp3s. It so much easier than fishing out the sets themselves. :rsmile:
  3. What a shocking coincidence!!! I was just making another grilled cheese sandwich and I think I can make out Dr. Smith and the robot.
  4. The image on this sandwich looks familiar, but I can't place it.
  5. It's amazing... I was making some grilled cheese sandwiches and you'll never believe what happened!
  6. Thanks Brandon! I'll check it out.
  7. Thanks for the info, Claypone. I was thinking of buying a few cds...
  8. I'm a graphic designer and I wish I had your job. This field is pretty saturated right now. I know. My younger brother is feeling the hurt. I hope he finds something soon. I needed a vacation anyway. In truth, the jobs are out there, but there's always someone who will work for much less. I realize the best way to be successful is to do the best work possible and to keep learning all the time. Do you know of any websites that have cool examples of graphic design. I really dig those Mexico '68 posters and would like to see more like them.
  9. I think I'll just order the plain bagel...
  10. The likeness is uncanny! If www.goldenpalace.com is going to keep buying all these food items with Jesus on them.... hmmm.... Hey, I've got a spatula, a frying pan, some cheese and bread... I think I've found my new career!
  11. I saw the Shat do his act on Leno. I thought he was pretty good. I don't know if I'd buy the album, since the Shat's Transformed Man is already in my collection, and I don't listen to it much.

  13. I can't get rid of some of mine either. The ones with sentimental value probably get played the least. My original Rickenbacker and Fender Stratocaster have been with me for close to 20 years and I could never get rid of them. I don't play them much anymore, but when I open their cases, it takes me back to being 20 and all the amazing places I played. I haven't performed or recorded for five years, but I play everyday. It's too hard for me with my family to be an active musician, but I'm going to make a comeback. I'll just call these the woodshed years. Brandon, I'm digging those Mexico '68 graphics. I love that kind of stuff.
  14. That's some cool stuff! I used to collect books, but numerous moves (and marriage) have reduced my collection immensely. The only thing I could say that I collect is guitars. I have around 30 right now. I've had many more in the past, but the ones I have now are real keepers. It's funny, I went to the mega-chain guitar store this last weekend and spent three hours playing many of their guitars. I realized how much I loved my own guitars; none of the guitars I played (at the store) could hold a candle to them. Someday, I'll have room to keep them all together again. Right now, they're safely packed away in various family members closets. :rsmile:
  15. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! My son is 3 1/2 and he has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I wish you and your family all the best.
  16. I remember the guys on the Steve Hoffman forum going on and on about these. I'm not really sure what they concluded. I know a lot of them liked the old London cds from the '80 (if you can find them). I bought a bunch of the hybrids when they came out and I'm pretty happy with them. I think they're a big improvement on the ABKCO cds that were out before.
  17. Wow! You'd think a group that has a forum with 1000 members would have the record labels knocking. Hint hint. I know I'll buy whatever Organissimo puts out (as long as it is not a collection of Yma Sumac songs - yikes! ). Thanks for the great board!
  18. Yup, that's me Matt Foley! I dig the new avatar, Peter!
  19. I wish you a very happy birthday!!!
  20. I used to be a graphic designer and web developer. Now... I live in a van down by the river.
  21. Those were Conns. I'll get them eventually! Thanks for the list, marcoliv!
  22. In the past, I've said how when it came to CAN, I didn't like much past Ege Bamyasi. This cat is eating those words. I've been listening to Future Days (the album after Ege Bamyasi) quite a bit lately and I've really gotten into it. When I first heard it fifteen years ago, it didn't resonate with me and I didn't have anything to do with it. Now, I'm really into this album. Thanks for getting me to re-evaluate this one. :rsmile:
  23. Maybe there aren't anymore lurkers. Everybody's joined up. There's so much being covered around here that I think it would be impossible to lurk. You can talk jazz or any other music, you can get into it in the Politics forum, you can post links to goofy websites, etc... Dare I say it? The greatest forum ever? If there are any lurkers left, please join in. We'd love to hear from you.
  24. Van Halen could have used one of those back in the day.
