I have pre-existing mp3s I downloaded that I am able to play on this new car stereo I got recently. I've got 1 cdr with 157 tracks on it.
My question is, how can I make mp3s of tracks off my cd collection so I can make a wild and crazy 150+ song jazz disc?
I have Toast (4.1.1 I think?) for Mac and I tried to figure it out for an hour last night to no avail. I'm thinking my software might not have the capability...
I made this 157-song mp3 cdr last night to test out my new car cd player's mp3-playing capabilities. Really cool! The digital display says the artist's name and track while the song plays.
I almost hit a deer on I-395 near Mammoth Lakes about a month ago, missed him by just a few feet. Closest I've come.
My good friend's dad once hit a dead horse on a dark dirt road in Mexico while doing about 50mph--he never saw it. Clarence estimated he was airbourne for 100 feet or so, and had the extreme displeasure of cleaning the gore off the underside of his truck when he got home.

Hey Riverrat, I recently replaced an older model Alpine cd player with the Pioneer above, and have really been pleased with its performance. Nice round volume control knob, too.
No one artist even approaching 30 recordings, much less 50 to 100. About 20 Hendrix discs, and a slew of jazz artists around 10 (Miles, Trane, Lee Morgan, Donald Byrd, George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green).
You guys are nuts!
I was reading a newspaper the other day and noticed that greats such as Sam Rivers and Bobby Hutcherson have performed in LA recently. I'm a bit of a hermit, but I should get out and see some of these guys while I can...
Up, because I just picked up Larry Young's LAWRENCE OF NEWARK and grooved my ass off to it all afternoon driving around LA.
BTW--Los Angelenos, Tower Records on the corner of Ventura and Sepulveda has an unscathed jazz section. They had loads of Blue Note discs I haven't seen other places, I was bummed to be on a limited budget.
As a UCLA fan, I was rooting for the Pac-10 Arizona Wildcats. They led the whole game, then the offense seemed to stall and Seton Hall seemed to be in every passing lane. Lute was telling the team during a time out late in the game, "you're forcing, you're forcing."
Great competition so far, especially that DePaul/Dayton double OT game.
I've yet to hear one I didn't like. I have RIP RIG & PANIC coupled with NOW PLEASE DON'T YOU CRY BEAUTIFUL EDITH, and would agree this is great stuff. I like all the other albums I have by him, but that twofer gets the most playtime:
DOMINO
PREPARE THYSELF TO DEAL WITH A MIRACLE
RAHSAAN RAHSAAN
THE CASE OF THE THREE-SIDED DREAM IN AUDIO COLOR
THE MAN WHO CRIED FIRE
...AUDIO COLOR is a little more funk oriented, and THE MAN WHO CRIED FIRE is a Hyena release that I like the least of my Kirks.
If Duncan is still out, the Tenderwolves might take 'em down.
Can the Lakers "turn it on?" I have my doubts.
I always like it when the Kings and Mavs lose.
