  1. Damn Shawn, I hope things turn around for you. You've always been a great contributor here.

    Best Popcorn Ever

JB's grunts and screams drive a song better than most singers. And man could he dance! There will never be a tighter funk unit.
  3. What "lame dude in red stockings?" oh, now I see him,
  4. It's all right. The Jordan worshipers will never let LeBron be considered better than MJ, especially now that he went and became Wade's sidekick. Wade's the proven winner. LeBron made himself into Pippen, even if his numbers and ridiculous skills tell a different story. It will forever be, "oh big deal, Jordan would have won ten titles if he had teamed up with two perennial all-stars at the peak of his powers." LeBron has tainted his own legacy.
  5. I think people hate LeBron more for the way he left Cleveland, not just that he left. His big TV show special "The Decision" to announce that he was abandoning the city that worshiped him. The pompous statement, "I've decided to take my talents to South Beach" has been a punchline for months. Had LeBron simply insisted on leaving, and forced Cleveland to trade him, a la Melo to NYK, it wouldn't have been as bad. Instead, he left Cleveland fans twisting in the wind, guessing for weeks after an inexplicable collapse in the playoffs (during which LeBron's effort was questionable), then announced he was going to go play second fiddle to Wade and make the Cavs instantly go from contender to worst team in the NBA.
  6. I'm a fan. Grover's got a number of jazz funk classics, must-haves in the sub-genre. "Knucklehead" is definitely one of them, MWTGA!
  7. No thank you, I take it black. Like my men.
  8. Thanks for the great songs, Gil. "Gun" and "The Bottle" are favorites. RIP.
  9. I hope Nowitzki gives those three a big shitburger to eat.
  10. Seems pretty dirty to me. He could have gone in feet first and scored in front of any tag. But, I think that's how baserunners are coached to break up throws to the plate...
  11. Both! I enjoy variety. If it's brewed coffee, I like it black. The lattes at Starbucks work for me, but the price doesn't. I still remember how good the coffee was in Amsterdam when I was there in '04... I really like The Good Earth's hot tea, for those familiar with the restaurant. Green tea is tasty, but if it leans too far one way it reminds me of the flavor of football mouthpieces. I love Thai tea, too. There's this Corner Cafe Bakery joint which makes a black currant iced tea, it's off the charts. And Islands has that passion iced tea I love. I never add sugar to coffee or tea.
  12. Thanks for the warning, Evan. I actually have two discs that are on "backorder" left in the queue, but I don't expect them to ever be shipped. That's low that they would run their business that way, no wonder they're going down.
  13. Too sad. Nature is merciless. I imagined myself living through such a thing, and losing all my possessions...and found myself questioning whether my own happiness is based on too much shallowness. Disasters like this are a staggering dose of perspective. My heart goes out to all those people.
  14. I got the same message, ejp626. The last time I tried to join Columbia House DVD Club, they wouldn't let me in even though they invited me! I guess they remember me from the old Columbia House music club, when I must have quit and rejoined with two accounts about ten times each.
  15. I bought the last few items left in my queue and left it empty. The 499SALE code works for box sets and multi-disc jobs, if anyone was wondering. Adios, yourmusic.

    Duke Pearson

    I'm wahoo for Wahoo!
  17. Last week I had one called Ballast Point Abandon Ship Smoked Lager. Very tasty. Another recent favorite is this one:
  18. They serve this 'un at a local specialty beer bar. 11% alcohol! Tasty too.
  19. I miss Tower Sunset. I used to work right down the street and I'd make a stop every few weeks. There's a couple old pro skateboarders who own a record store in San Diego. Really small, but they have a tasty selection. I forget the name. EDIT: I believe it's called "Thirsty Moon."
  20. Strangely enough they haven't sent that email to all their customers. I keep getting Music Queue updates about items being back-ordered, but nothing about the club shutting down.
  21. Loving this one! Got it for four clams plus shipping. Thanks .:.!
