  1. Right, I'm just saying the lawyers shouldn't have any challenges at all. It doesn't take much to sabotage any hope for well-reasoned discussion. I imagine it could be as simple as eliminating one juror who shows the initiative, capability, and leadership qualities to spur the jury toward the correct decision. One in twelve seems a likely ratio to field a person of high intelligence...
  2. Perhaps lawyers shouldn't be the ones to select the jury. A fair jury would be a random jury.
  3. This is why I don't watch "the news." I read the paper, or the internet, and choose the stories I want to read. I've only given a glance to news clips on this story, and while recognizing it as a really sad story I've always moved on to reading something more substantial/less gossip-oriented. It's interesting how much of the public had already convicted the accused. My own mother made the comment that Anthony did not report her child missing for a month, and based on that alone she should have been guilty. Still, for so many who didn't sit on the jury to arrive at such a serious conclusion seems...hasty.
  4. I can't stay on rhythm, and I don't really know what to do with myself, but I'll dance with a pretty girl if she wants me to. It's difficult to not be embarrassed or self-conscious while doing so, but I just smile and laugh and make self-deprecating jokes if necessary.
  5. Me too! Thanks.
  6. My Uncle is addicted to prescription painkillers. The pills have made a mess of his filtration system, which has quite clearly affected his ability to reason. They've poisoned him, and he's completely detached from reality. Despite his career and friends/family relationships rapidly deteriorating, he's totally convinced he's right about everything. He can't be told anything. He's always right and has never been wrong once, in his eyes. Delusions of grandeur.
  7. Addicts can't be advised. They either have to arrive at the realization that they need to get clean, or they ride the addiction clear to oblivion. When they have money and autonomy and no friends or family who hold sway, what can anyone do? We're watching a shooting star, which burned moderately brightly for a few moments, and is quickly fading to black.
  8. Here's a detailed analysis of why McCourt must go.
  9. Excellent choice of words.
  10. What an ear! Fun read.
  11. LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, Oakland Raiders, LA Kings, and UCLA Bruins have always been my teams and always will be.
  12. Congrats Mavs fans! Condolences Bright Moments and other Heatles! As happy as I could be without the Lakers hoisting another trophy.
  13. At least Neil Sedaka knows when to keep his clothes on. I thought it was Dom DeLuise.
  14. LMAO, that story is pure gold, JSngry.
  15. I hope Freddie heals up quick.
  16. Yes, it drew a disgusted f-word out of me.
  17. Damn Shawn, I hope things turn around for you. You've always been a great contributor here.

JB's grunts and screams drive a song better than most singers. And man could he dance! There will never be a tighter funk unit.
  19. What "lame dude in red stockings?" oh, now I see him,
  20. It's all right. The Jordan worshipers will never let LeBron be considered better than MJ, especially now that he went and became Wade's sidekick. Wade's the proven winner. LeBron made himself into Pippen, even if his numbers and ridiculous skills tell a different story. It will forever be, "oh big deal, Jordan would have won ten titles if he had teamed up with two perennial all-stars at the peak of his powers." LeBron has tainted his own legacy.
