  1. Luiz Bonfa - Jacaranda Jimi Hendrix - Villanova Junction Whoa, just ran across this while searching youtube! Mary Lou Williams - My Blue Heaven
  2. Posting from my iPhone at the launder-mat. As if I weren't on the Internet enough.
  3. Larry's books after she got done with them:
  4. Hahahaha, as the youngsters say, there is "so much win" in his email responses. I had seen the one about the lost cat, but not the correspondence with the teacher. So awesome that she speaks with the principal and gets the ban lifted at the end.
  5. Wow, I really want to see the whole documentary after that teaser. Looks incredible!
  6. Everything ain't for everybody. I think the book sculpture is a cool object to look at. How "offensive" it is should depend on how rare the book is, shouldn't it? It isn't like a mass book-burning, destroying every copy of this particular publication. Hyper-realist Tony Curanaj is amazing:
  7. Thanks again everybody! I went to dinner with my parents at the restaurant where my sister-in-law works. Lebanese food. Lamb shanks, shawarma, yogurt-marinated chicken, hummus, tabouli...sooo good.
  8. Thanks guys!
  9. Extending my gratitude as well! A great listen, I'm filling in the track information now.
  10. I do, Jim. Just box them up and have them shipped to my house.
  11. I find the audio quality is all over the place, no matter what format I have it in. I have an old Doors 2cd set which sounds bad compared to mp3s...
  12. My friends and I used to have battles drawing stick figures of each other being forced to go through elaborate "torture chambers." Later I would draw fairly accurate likenesses of my teachers, purposely exaggerating features to get laughs out of my classmates. Can't count the number of times I got in trouble for that. However, I never drew any murderous threats against my teachers...
  13. I'm surprised there's never any blame placed on MTV for failing to be the music promoting entity it used to be. New artists with new music in a variety of genres were promoted on a free television channel practically 24 hours a day. The biggest hits ALWAYS had a video too. When a popular band had a new album coming out, there was an update about it on the TV. It was entirely about music. They'd even have live shows and experimental music on late night. Look at the peak of music sales on that chart! Right when MTV was at its creative best, and I don't believe that is a coincidence.
  14. Looks like they got lazy and some of the artists are listed as "Various Artists."
  15. I've listened to this twice through, and I'm on my third. Can't say I have any significant guesses, and I'm about to read the other guesses. I love the first track, reminds me of Rahsaan Roland Kirk. A really nice listen, start to finish. Thanks ubu!
  16. Good listen, Chris. Mr. Young sounds a bit less than cooperative, as if he didn't really want to share.
  17. Although I won't knock the guy for having his own taste, it's odd to have a collection THAT big and not explore a bit outside the usual. My collection isn't nearly as large but spans many genres and well into stuff which isn't my usual cup of tea.
  18. The song "In All My Wildest Dreams" has long been a favorite of mine.
  19. "Miles, baby! Back me up on this one...they called Charlie Parker 'Bird,' because he played so fast his reed would chirp!"
  20. I almost always like the original best, but I dig a whole lot of covers. Funny, I bet The Singers Unlimited and Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 are fans of the Beatles' original material, hence the covers.
  21. All my "anger" isn't the least bit serious, JETman. That said I don't like media trash talk of any sort when it's done by players or coaches not on my teams. Armchair warriors like you and I are allowed to talk all we want. I pick on Sanchez because he's a Trojan (UCLA Bruins fan here), but he's amounted to far better an NFL QB than I expected. Good luck to your team!
  22. If I had to rank the remaining teams, I'd rank them as follows: 1. Steelers 2. Packers 3. Bears 4. Jets Really a toss up for the 3 and 4 spots, and I only dropped the Bears below the Pack because I believe more in Rodgers than that douchebag Cutler. Stinky Sanchez will inevitably lay a stinker at some point here, and my guess is it's coming against the Stoolers. Rex Ryan runs his jibs too much, so I'd love to see him lose. Shittsburgh seems to be able to assert their will against even the stingiest of defenses. I don't like any of these teams, so I don't care who wins. The Steelers have won enough lately, someone take them down. Condolences to Conn on his Pats going down, although the Raider fan in me is giggling with glee.
  23. Thanks for sharing this, WorldB3.
