Transmission blew on my car
slsmcgrew replied to connoisseur series500's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
It sounds as if the tranny is the most major breakdown you have had with the car up till now. With the amount of miles on the car many things could start to go wrong. Next thing to go could be the engine and then you would really be in a world of hurt. Go with a newer Toyota or Honda. Saturns also have a pretty good record. -

Have you ever hear Carlos w/Alice Coltrane, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and others on Illuminations? Bill Laswell did some remixing resulting in the disc Devine Light. 7/6 I may have heard it on something my husband has. I can't even tell you if he has any of the artists you named. My knowledge of jazz is sorely lacking. The husband takes care of the Jazz and Led Zepplin. I take care of the other genres. Thank you for making me feel better about my choice. -

I apologize in advance for my choice. He wasn't a choice in the poll. He (sorry) isn't known for jazz but my choice would have to be-drum roll please-Carlos Santana with the runner up of Eric Clapton. -
Has anyone been reading about Annika Sorenstam?
slsmcgrew replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Vijay Singh has withdrawn from the tournament. He did say it was not due to Annika's playing but he was going to take time off to be with his family and enjoy his win at the Byron Nelson Championship. -

I am very sorry; I didn’t mean it to sound as if Christians are the only people that are able to behave well when challenged. They are not by a long shot. Most people I know Christian and Non-Christian alike behave in what might be considered a “Christian” manner. In my mind it has never been “us or them”. In fact a lot of Christians I know seem to be very hypocritical. As a Christian, I feel I am bound by my beliefs to be an example of those beliefs. If I don’t follow the dictates of my religion than I have no right to cast the first stone. Actually, I don’t feel I should cast any stones. This doesn’t mean that I can’t or won’t disagree with what someone may say or do. It doesn’t mean that I don’t fly off the handle some time and go to far. I even use foul language from time to time. When I do fly off the handle it is then my responsibility to apologize for that behavior. Most people no matter what their beliefs would do the same thing. My beliefs are very deep and usually very private and sometimes I have a difficult time articulating how I feel. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I have to stop here and get ready for work. I’ll be back

I have been following this topic and just started following the "Is it over?, We’ll see" as well. As a Christian I would like to apologize for the "Christian" example that Musicboy deposited into the world. This is not how Christians should maneuver according to the tenets of the Bible. I even censored a post my husband, Mr. Kartoffel-hadi-blues, wanted to include. It would have been really funny (at least it was to us) but I started thinking about the reprisal that Musicboy might unleash upon us personally. I found as I read more and more I was getting angry. (Anger is not Un-Christian—how you act upon the anger is what determines Christian or non-Christian behavior). I then realized that the anger I was experiencing was beginning to be the same type of ferocity I feel when someone has hurt one of my kids. My kids are adults but they are and will always be “MY KIDS”. I was turning into a Mother Bear. (Don’t get in-between a mother bear and her kids). I decided to stop reading and take a break to calm down and collect my thoughts. Over time, the members of this board have become an out of the ordinary family. We have differences of opinions. The political forum can get heated and some of us will never agree with others. We certainly don’t all like the same artists and types of music. We like to welcome new members. The more knowledge imparted on the board the more we learn. We share the joys and sorrows of our lives. I’m always touched to see the outpouring of concern when something heartrending is shared. Even with all our differences, WE ARE FAMILY and we will defend our own when necessary. I kept thinking about some of the words to the song of the same title. Ev'ryone can see we're together As we walk on by (FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather I won't tell no lie (ALL!) all of the people around us they say Can they be that close Just let me state for the record We're giving love in a family dose I apologize for going on for so long. P.S. I’m thinking of changing my member name to Mother

Gosh, a real live woman is on this board? Not one of those "Men with women's names" folks like Fran, Bev, and Mary McGoon? If I had only known, I thought this board was all male. Sorry ma'am! Let me the first to wish you a belated Happy Mother's day! Yes, I'm a real live woman. In some corners of the world I'm also known as Mrs. kartoffel·hadi blues. No need to apologize, like I said boys will be boys. Thank you for the belated Mother's Day greeting.

Thank you JACK, I really need something to laugh at and get OFF on when I got home from work. Shane does do very right by me in more ways than one. (That is a refrence to Mammoth proportions). Thank you for the Mother's Day wishes.

I find it utterly amazing and humorous that a bunch of grown men can have such a hissy fit and start arguing over whether or not the picture is offensive or should be someone’s signature. Goodness, gracious, politics was even pulled into it. As a woman I could get extremely offended at the numerous pictures that are posted of women. Those pictures show a lot more skin and the poses can be particularly seductive. I choose a long time ago to take the view of the pictures that boys will be boys. Enough of the mommy lecture, everybody wish me a Happy Mother’s Day now. P.S. Could the woman in the photo possibly be "Betty White"

Damn now we're REALLY in trouble P.D. –I’m crushed. Just because I’m a flag waving, liberal, conservative, socialistic, independent, libertarian, democratic, republican, anarchist doesn’t mean I’ll cause trouble.

I realized after I posted my remarks that: 1. I was more tired than I thought 2. I deserved anything thrown at me 3. The ads of course wouldn't apply to me and 4. My husband doesn't need them either My God, I'm I lucky

Great! Soon we'll all have a bigger penis! And own spy-cams and have lots of dates. Of course I don't have a penis I wouldn't read the ad anyway.

Mr. B3-er, what a great job you have done getting this board up so quickly. I'm impressed. I did register at the aaj site but I'll be honest (I said this on the aaj site also) hadi-blues is the jazz expert and I take care of the sports and the politics. I am so happy to see a political forum. Thank you very much.
