Without any doubt, it is recommended to get the Mosaic select set. In addition, everyone who likes the music and the playing of Dizzy Reece, must have also Asia Minor. This is one of his best recordings and since he recorded it for Prestige, it is not part of the Mosaic set.

Dear friends, Do yourself a favor and don’t spend your $$$ on Hart's new album. I'm afraid my English is not good enough to express my disappointment, but this is elevators music from the lowest level. I can't understand how such a talented musician like Antonio Hart, who already recorded some beautiful sessions, records such an album. If one of you can provide an explanation I'll be more than happy to learn something. All We Need

BTW: both recorded very good sessions also with another great pianist: Mulgrew Miller.

Joanne Brackeen is one of my favorute pianist. She redefines every tune ahe plays. Bounderies do not exist for her: she can play hard bop as well as free jazz. This one is one of her best trio recordings.

Several CDs I ordered from different sources in the U.S. shipped by surface mail late August and I'm still waiting... Sometimes surface mail takes 10 weeks....

I'm curious who else you might have said, had Murray been born a couple years earlier (meaning had he already turned 50 a couple years ago). In other words, would you care to offer up another name for us?? (though you are hereby officially on record as being strongly in Murray's camp -- which I'm not trying to dispute in any way). Who's your second choice?? (Humor me, thanks!!) James Carter is my 2ed choice. In general, I prefer the young generation of alto players: Antonio Hart and Donald Harrison, over the tenor players (i.e. Chris Potter, Eric Alexander etc).

Amother vote for Whisper Not. And if we are talking about favorite versions, I prefer Lee Morgan's version (Mosaic set, disc 1).

I prefer Don Byas version over many others.
