That Stan Douglas video is great. I've seen it shown a couple of times in New York.
A favorite concert with Ewart is still etched in my mind: François Tusques with Ewart, Denis Colin, Adam Linz (bass), JT Bates (drums) in Minneapolis as part of Jean Rochard's Minnesota Sur Seine festival in 2005. That gig was pure fire, and they closed with "Portrait of Erika Huggins," a Tusques classic. I was able to interview him during the festival and we talked a lot about Intercommunal Music (which closes with that tune), so I was overjoyed seeing the group rip through that one live.
