  1. Email comin' on a few of these.
  2. That Steeplechase LP is pretty good, yeah. I don't recall Mr. Joy having electric piano on it - though it's an excellent record!
  3. I really want that Revenge LP, too. Not cheap on the internet, though! I second the recommendation for Improvisie, and also like Dual Unity.
  4. Yes; I know just a little French & Spanish. My languages in college were Latin and classical Greek. So there you go...
  5. Very sorry to hear this Rolf - my sincerest condolences to you and yours. On this Thanksgiving, you will be able to give so much thanks for fond memories, challenges, growth, companionship and love. Take care.
  6. It was also issued on Prestige under Duke Pearson's name, as Dedication. Apparently the session was put together by/for trombonist Willie Wilson for the Jazzline label, but didn't see release until the Fontana LP under Hubbard's name and, later, under Pearson's.
  7. I'll try to tune in before my 7:00 slot.
  8. Don Cherry - Where is Brooklyn? - (BN Liberty)
  9. Yeah, I remember the Jazzman guy contacting me for James' information - hadn't heard of it prior. Looking forward to hearing it.
  10. I guess he broke the seal on her Mosaic...
  11. This is new to me. Thanks.
  12. The only Blind Mamie Forehand I know is from the Revenant comp, but she's absolutely spellbinding. Gotta get this set, Finally!
  13. My Dutch is non-existent, but even not understanding what was being said, the footage is incredible. Also, dig the fact that you get some of the sessions for ICP 01, the New Acoustic Swing Duo, on film. I have to thank Pedro Moreno (our own epistrophy_arts) for hipping me to this bit of history.
  14. If this were a poll, I'd vote for this iteration as well.
  15. Indeed!
  16. What a beautiful document. Check it out here.
  17. Irene Schweizer - The Early Tapes - (FMP)
  18. That Cecil FMP box is giving me a cold sweat. Decent price, but still a lot of change.
  19. Yeah, I was unimpressed when Terri Gross interviewed him the other day. Seemed like a first-class asshole. Now, Alan Sondheim on the other hand...
  20. Oof - I didn't even think of that, either.
  21. Thought this thread might have been about:
  22. I'm curious why you're curious, chewy. All for mind-expansion, sure, though I've recalled previous disinterest in the music of Ayler and Cecil Taylor, so... In any event, this is an excellent record and, for what it's worth, one of the first "avant-garde" jazz records I heard/bought. Still tops.
  23. It is also fun to listen to in mono!
