  5. Amazing to see that it's still on 'Last Chance' tonight. If I'd known that I would have played it cool and held out a bit longer.
  6. That was pretty well the first jazz LP I ever heard. The auto-changer for the Decca gramophone was in repeated action on that one.
  7. Would that be Art Garfunkel's 'Bright Eyes' tune? Can't even imagine Woody covering that one !

  9. I'm still using a Zerostat pistol, vintage circa 1978..
  10. Thanks JAW. Just ordered it - really shouldn't push it to the wire like this and flog myself ( ). Whilst I was at it, I picked up the MJQ set as well.
  11. That sums up my conclusion too. The LP and CD Mosaic sets will suffice !

  18. I remember Humph playing a track from that on his radio (when it first came out !) and being very impressed with one of the Navarro solos and the huge sound made by this band. Wasn't there also some pretty crazy announcing from Ernie 'Bubbles' Whitman on that one?
  19. Wow ! Was that on ebay?
  20. Two Shags Prescott Ken Clarke William '21 pints a night' Hague
  21. You never heard Tony Williams, Bill? Or Elvin at a distance of less than 10 feet (I did ....once !)
  22. One day I will get round to spinning my 70s disco records again. Or maybe not. Very brave of you to admit to those! My Kool and the Gang and Chic albums are still in the racks. Hidden at the back next to Devo.
  23. That's very interesting. There's some moody, dense thematic music in that one which always sounded Gerald Wilson-ish to me and I'd always thought it was Gerald's orchestra. You have just cleared up one of my big mysteries because I could never find music by Gerald on record which mathched it. Cheers !
