  8. Thanks for that. We don't get exposed at all over here to Schlager - that's something that is very German/'Continental'. I'll pass on the 'jazz' CD, based on your comments.
  9. Soweto Kinch Brian Lynch H'Angus the Monkey Peter Mandelson Prince of Darkness Hinduja
  10. Mike - Does Gitte still perform on German TV etc?

  13. Yes, that's probably my favourite playing from him. A standout. Also that Elvin Jones session with 'Dido Afrique', 'Champagne Baby' etc.
  14. Welcome back Bruce !
  15. Sad news - RIP. She features prominently on the Jackie Paris 'Tis Autumn' DVD.
  16. Just priming my Mosaic trigger finger with this one !
  17. Yes, 'The Gigolo' is one that I don't even have on a Liberty pressing (my only copy, other than CD, is a Pathe Macaroni DMM ) so the Music Matters 2x45rpm will be very welcome here !
  18. That one is a corker and Farrell fits very well into Martino's line-up. My favourite Joe Farrell is probably on the Thad & Mel Mosaic set. I like his CTI albums, the work with Elvin and his single LP done for Contemporary too (must dig it out).
  19. I passed on 2 mint copies of those boxes (the orange one and the blue one) some years ago for £10 each. Regretted it ever since !
  20. More money to fund banksters, lawyers, trainee politicos and other assorted shysters Hope they get none of it and it goes to more deserving causes like the scientists.
  21. Pretty shocking news, given his relatively young age. Makes me feel ancient too - RIP. Later on in the 60s was when I first remember it - around the same time as 'Rat Patrol'.
  22. Mr Rotten should stick to the TV adverts for country butter..
  23. Blind Lemon Pie The Ruttles Prefab Four
  24. Hope I get to see him again. May his playing and music continue to flourish ! Just wish that they'd shown much more of his playing (instead of the rushed, short scene in the club) and given him an Oscar for that 'Terminal' movie.
  25. Serge Chaloff Margaret Chaloff Julius Chaloff
