  1. Happy Birthday !
  2. A wonderful artist - and from the sound of it a very nice man too. Very glad to have caught several performances by him - Northsea several years ago, Gillespie Reunion Big band about 10 years before that. I think I'll put the Gillespie Mosaic set on today by way of recognition. RIP Mr Moody.
  3. Ernie Benny Hill Two-Ton Ted From Teddington
  4. Yusef certainly played Ronnie Scotts in the mid-60s (there's that Les Tomkins tape of the gig) so maybe he was there too.
  5. Happy Birthday - may the spirit be with you !
  6. Good point. Wikileaks might see us.
  7. Agreed. Stands up equally well as both an 'Africa' album and a 'jazz' album. Now when is someone going to reissue this one as well as the Regal Zonophone 'Emergent Drums'?
  8. I've not even picked up the Braxton set yet ! Agree that this is a very welcome new area for Mosaic. Maybe they could have a chat with Evan Parker and put out a complete Incus set?
  9. Tony Blair The Vicar of St Albion The Singing Nun Didn't he have 3?
  10. Is it my imagination or was it even colder last night? Woke up today doing a good impression of an icicle.
  11. Sorry to hear that Brownie - not sure I could ever recover from that ! ************ {CENSORED} **************** I will be bequeathing these to the Nation .....NOT !
  12. Thanks to Tooter for making me aware of this one (UK Colpix): Based on 'Blithe Spirits'
  13. Sgt Buzzcut Beavis Butt-head
  14. Yeah, I was wondering if I needed my eyes testing as it was much more likely a juvenile pheasant or grouse. That long snoot can't be mistaken though. The first one I've ever seen.
  15. This cold stuff is bringing some weird wildlife out. I swear I saw a curlew walk across the road this morning ! What was it doing wading through the snow though? - well away from its usual coastal habitat.
  16. Wouldn't recommend this place at the moment, Big Al. It's warmer up in Yellowknife ! I'll be sure to post a 'trip report'.
  17. Brady Bunch Wild Bunch Marty Wilde
  18. Still -5C or less when I put the bins out this morning. Jeez !
  19. As the Cornishman said " I went to England the other day. A day trip to Plymouth. Didn't like it - never leaving Cornwall again." Some people never make it across the Tamar, never mind North of Shepton Mallet !
  20. Interesting lineup in that Mike Westbrook Big Band. According to the flyer I have, Lou Gare and Dave Holdsworth are in the lineup, along with Karen Street and the guys from the Village Band. I'm looking forward to it.
  21. Here;s hoping that the conditions hold up for me to get down the A30 for the Mike Westbrook gig on Friday. Already had to cancel my trip up North this week !
  22. I'll be there (weather permitting).
  23. The Keynote set is very good - congrats ! Just won an original vinyl copy of Chitinous Ensemble 'Chitinous' (Deram) tonight on the 'bay'. This one has eluded me on vinyl for years, although I have the CD.
  24. That box set cost me about $70Cdn plus GST in Canada about 15 years ago - and that was in a 20% off sale. 18 euro-zlottys in 2010 prices is a steal !
  25. Gus McDonald Norman Lamont Mis Whiplash
