A wonderful artist - and from the sound of it a very nice man too. Very glad to have caught several performances by him - Northsea several years ago, Gillespie Reunion Big band about 10 years before that. I think I'll put the Gillespie Mosaic set on today by way of recognition. RIP Mr Moody.
Agreed. Stands up equally well as both an 'Africa' album and a 'jazz' album.
Now when is someone going to reissue this one as well as the Regal Zonophone 'Emergent Drums'?
I've not even picked up the Braxton set yet !
Agree that this is a very welcome new area for Mosaic. Maybe they could have a chat with Evan Parker and put out a complete Incus set?
Sorry to hear that Brownie - not sure I could ever recover from that !

I will be bequeathing these to the Nation .....NOT !
Yeah, I was wondering if I needed my eyes testing as it was much more likely a juvenile pheasant or grouse. That long snoot can't be mistaken though. The first one I've ever seen.
This cold stuff is bringing some weird wildlife out. I swear I saw a curlew walk across the road this morning ! What was it doing wading through the snow though? - well away from its usual coastal habitat.
As the Cornishman said " I went to England the other day. A day trip to Plymouth. Didn't like it - never leaving Cornwall again."
Some people never make it across the Tamar, never mind North of Shepton Mallet !
Interesting lineup in that Mike Westbrook Big Band. According to the flyer I have, Lou Gare and Dave Holdsworth are in the lineup, along with Karen Street and the guys from the Village Band. I'm looking forward to it.
Here;s hoping that the conditions hold up for me to get down the A30 for the Mike Westbrook gig on Friday. Already had to cancel my trip up North this week !
The Keynote set is very good - congrats !
Just won an original vinyl copy of Chitinous Ensemble 'Chitinous' (Deram) tonight on the 'bay'. This one has eluded me on vinyl for years, although I have the CD.
